We should sell godfrey if we are being honest

Realistically mate all 3 are out of contract next summer, so we need to look at their situations and have replacements this or next summer and that's going to cost - thats my concern, we loose players for minimal fees but pay good fees for replacements. While Branthwaites situation is fluid. Of our five centre backs four could be moving on within 12 months.
Pragmatically it may make sense to offer one say Godfrey a new deal.
The logic is this the cost of replacing is more then giving him a new deal and there is more of a market for him - also having the age profile.
We could afford to loose maybe one this summer and have four centre backs presuming Brathwaite stays another year.

Godfrey is half decent, or he was towards the end of last season playing as a right sided full-back at least. In fact, he's the best right sided full-back we have at the moment, so I'd have no problem with extending his deal for a year or two. It's Holgate and Keane that really need punting!

Also at the same time, you don't want to be getting good money in for Branthwaite (e.g. £80m) only to waste it by buying 2-3 new Centre backs in with only one getting a starting spot! As you say it makes sence offering Godfrey or Keane a contract extension at some point.
Its a bit like selling someone like Richarlison and using that money on Beto, Maupay & Chermiti

I think Dyche wants to work with him. He has pa e and physicality and was ok pre-Covid. Maybe dyche thinks he can be improved further
Has a year left so has to agree new deal or get sold for me, cant keep letting players leave on a free. Just a disgrace how many players hqve left on a free is pathetic and is a sign of how this club has been ran

I think we will sell Branthwaite and be getting free transfers, loans or older players like Young.
I doubt we will spend what we did on Beto, Cheemiti and Maupay. Beto and Chermiti still need to be paid for too.

Every player bar Patterson and Branthwaite are out of contract in the next 2 years.
If we sold Godfrey then we would need to go down the Chermiti route and bring in a young player to develop over a season.
Ideally we'd sell the other two and bring in a 3rd choice on loan.
Meanwhile Mykolenko's contract should be extended.
With the recent slew of youth players being released does that mean we're bringing new promising youth in or just business as usual?
You'd like to think we have some promising players coming through, but given the way we have been run for the last few years, it wouldn't surprise me if the lads just wanted to move on away from Everton
