Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

Not really, those in Red, there is probably only DCL and Godfrey that are in the squad and have decent resale value to be protected
Doucoure is 31 - We have seen players like him that drop off quickly because he is reliant on his high work rate, it makes sense for hm to be on a short term deal
Gana is similar, 34, Coleman 35, and Young 38 as well should only be renewed on a year by year basis.
Onyango, Holgate, Campbell, Virginia, Crellin, Maupay, Mills never play. We would probably not miss these specific players, yes we need people in the squad, but the manager has already determind that these people are not really required.
Keane is 4th choice CB, again a person is required here, but not particularly him. Realistically we are not going to get the money back for him, he is going to either go on loan this summer or leave on a free next summer.
You say this.....then mention Gana, Coleman & Young in the next sentence! 3 players who have had plenty of energy & not dropped off after 31

We absolutely need more young players in the side. I don't care if they have release clauses inserted, but the age of our squad is a concern in regards to key players. Need to follow the Brighton and Palace model where we aren't afraid of a big side nabbing our player because they have c. 60m+ clauses.

Every player is different. but fundamentally we should giving players over the age of 30 long term contract extensions. lets be honest none of our players over 30 are high value, someone at another club may offer them similar wages, but they are not gonna swoop in and offer them a 3 year deal on £300k a week. What im saying is, its not a risk if they are on 1 year deals.

Thats getting close to saying they're all crap so its fine if they all go which is great in theory but has a few slight downsides in practice like not being able to fulfil any of our fixtures.

The players are as loyal as their options. Its not that they are just "crap", but we have to be real. Look at the risk and reward. In the past we have made a mistake of signing players to long contracts, based on this idea that we were protecting an investment. Like Holgate, now we couldn't give him away because he is on so much money with us. Keane is a similar situation.

two years feeding off absolute scraps, doing the work of two men, waiting for non-existent support, battling injuries and still getting all the professional plaudits - there is a reason he is every manager, including the great Carlo, has him 1st name on the teamsheet.
The reason is, he’s never had any realistic competition for his place.

It truly is disgusting that the cut off point for this awful PSR is June, why isn't it at the end of the transfer window like it should be?
The players contracts start and finish on that date, which is why they use it. The end of the transfer window would just be too much messing about.

Agree to an extent but, he has been first choice the entire time. Seen off such delights as Beto, Chermi, Moise Kean,Maupay, Simms,Cannon,Richie,Rondon,Cenk and Niasse (I cant even let Sandro on there tbh).

Many of them may be questionable but a young lad getting the nod from every manager with all styles of play tells you a bit tbh. I am going with the managers and pundits on this
