Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

With Godfrey gone, we need Keane for the numbers.

I know it's the not the general opinion - but I'd be surprised if nobody wanted Keane if he was a reasonable price - e.g. for a different league.

It's difficult to see us selling Holgate for decent money - his loans didn't work out either. He can't be too happy with Dyche so best not have him around the squad.

Newcastle back in for DCL last night apparently, hopefully some movement on this today.
I "liked" your post mate , not because I want to see DCL out the door but because it seems increasingly likely that unfortunately he won't sign a new contract in which case he has to be sold as there is no way we can let him go on a free.

We don't Michael Keane in any fashion...he should be sold and adequately replaced, which won't be a problem considering he's an absolutely shambolic footballer.

I make you right on all that mate and wonder if we just might agree an early termination of Holgate's contract paying him , I dunno, 50% of this years salary so he can leave on a free ?

Something will happen before the end of the summer mate, if he was staying I think it would have been sorted by now and there are one too many stories creeping about for there to be nothing in them. A swap with Minteh would be excellent business, the prospect of him and N'Diaye in the same team linking up together is really something imo.

Agreed, I think the ship has sailed on a renewal of his contract, so I do think the swap deal with Minteh will happen in the next couple of days.

If we play in the same style in the forthcoming season, he is going to be a huge loss and will need to be replaced.

Is pace that important in the Dycheball low block method?
Good question. Not for a defender but essential for attacking midfielder and forwards if we are going to play on the counter.

If and it's a big if Dyche is going to evolve his playing style into more possession based and allow defenders to come out with the ball ( as Branthwaite does occasionally) then a defender with pace becomes more important.

He would have to be paid his whole salary. Why would he be willing to accept half of it when there’s no guarantee he gets another club etc
Thats part of the negotiation you make. Find yourself another club and we'll let you go for free and cover the shortfall in wages for this year its in your best interests to get yourself a permanent move now because you're not going to play a minute here so you'll be in a worse position next year.
