If a player is paid more than his value he won't get a buyer. The most you can hope for is a loan.

Someone like Gomes on a June 30th 2024 contract on £120k a week is going to receive another £14m.

Nobody is going to pay us a fee and give him more than £14m in wages. The best you can hope for is a loan where someone pays you perhaps £20k a week.

The club lost all sense of market value for 5 years and the consequence is we are in deep trouble for the next 3-4 years minimum.

I’d bet that Lampard is looking to replace the spine of the team and strengthen the mentality also. 2 new Cbs, 2 new CMs & a new forward. Plenty of deadwood to clear out and one of DCL or Richarlison likely to go if not both.

If we stay up FL won’t want another season like this filled with bottlers.

The whole strategy around transfers needs to change. Up to this season we’ve been trying to catch teams above us by signing their cast offs. Need to be scouring the championship. There are some great young players there. We should be looking at the likes of Johnson and Spence instead of overpaying for cast offs on ridiculous wages.

West Ham are trying to get Niklas Stark (versatile centre back) on a free. I've often thought that keeping an eye on whoever Davy Moyes fancies was a good idea.

Just need to turf out the ones we can. The 17/18 cohort will be coming to an end this season (if we haven’t foolishly extended them already) so Siggurdson Tosun Kenny and Delph will all hopefully be cut.

We should pressure those we can as well and make it clear to them that they won’t play a single minute for us. Although knowing some of this lot they’d be happy never to kick a ball again for us as long as they’re getting their 100k a week.

If it were me I’d sell Richarlison and DCL, move out the maximum number of players I can and just start again building on the core who want to stay, the young players, a few new signings, and a few loans.

Knowing Everton though we’ll keep everyone, pay 50 mill for Van Der Beek. He’ll be disinterested within a few weeks and we’ll fall foul of whatever new financial regulations they introduce.

I genuinely think that, in order to shift those four, we would need to pay at least a percentage of their wages to them as a lump sum, in order for the purchasing team to get them for a wag they can afford to pay.

Would keep 1 of DCL/Richarlison personally. I would have kept DCL over Richarlison but with his recent injury problems (and his look of cant be arsed) I fear he'll become another player plagued by muscle injuries going forward and nows the time to cash in.

£65-70 million from an Arsenal/Utd type club take the money and bring in 5 signings in the summer and a new spine to the side.

Nobody at the club has proved that we should keep them beyond the end of this season. So, the default position is total clearout. That means we sell anybody we can sell. The club needs a total rebuild.

No and and he is being linked with moves to Spurs and Arsenal and some clubs abroad so I doubt he would come here.
