My guess is Winks fell apart as much because Leeds or someone else offered Levy actual money for him rather than a loan. Still, works for me.

Think Lampard really wants Gallagher, but not sure Chelsea will sell. Need two new players in our midfield. (also, is Gbamin functional these days? If we don't sell him I suppose he could be part of the mix)

Wouldn't mind us looking at that Madueke over at PSV. We need a left footed, right side player and he might fit the bill nicely.

A backup to DCL is a must (surely there is a way to sever ties with Rondon)

Then another CB is needed. If Niakhate at Mainz is really available for less than 10M we should be looking. Sell Mina and either Keane or Holgate, whichever brings in the most.

todd is a wild yank

he would sell his father for a slice of messi

I think Pukki is one of those players looks fabulous in the championship, but not so good in the premier league. If you were talking a free, then maybe, but I wouldn’t be paying a fee for him. He doesn’t have the height, strength or pace. If he had the pace to go with his football brain he would be a much better bet.
He still consistently scores goals. Granted he gets ~10 per season rather than the 20+ he gets in the Championship, but that is still very respectable.

I'm not saying we should be beating down Norwich's door, but I also can't think of anyone both better and cheaper. If signing him on the cheap allows us more to spend on first XI players then it could make sense while providing some stability if DCL picks up an injury.

Think the club seem to want Dennis as he can play wide as well as through the middle. It’s just mad that a player who went to Watford for £4m last summer we are going to buy for £20m, plus add ons. Really we should be looking for the next Dennis, we’ve learned nothing, keep paying a premium for players.

i imagine our boardroom looking something like this at the back end of August

I have to say I knew a Richy sale was inevitable, even suggested it if the market was right but this is about as poor as one could imagine it going. For starters I think this season depreciated the possible return. His absence and the relegation scrap I think did effect the fee. If we had sought a sale last summer, I do think it could have been 20+ more than this. Clubs sustainability are predicated on executing sales at the most opportune time. When he was buzzing from the Olympics and Copa theres a fair case to suggests it was then. That said we might be down without him or had literally nothing else to cheer for in an awful season.

I might be bias but the fee is lackluster to expectations. Spurs being involved doesn't help considering Levy's frugality in the market. There is no way to know what else was out there but I am struggling to think someone wouldn't have beaten this.

The facts are the hard work is now. Look around the squad and their are few other places that will offer sums to be reinvested. If the Richy return is poorly used on players without viable sell on potential we are setting ourselves up for disaster. Spread the wealth over a myriad of positions for upside plays.

Thanks Richy!

if we get 30 mil for kean and 50 mil for richy thats 80 mil to spend

if we are very smart we can make that 80 mil stretch with signing eriksen on a free and bringing in two highly rated players on loan

thats 3 players with an outlay of no more than 10 mil inc loan fees

then you have 70 mil to spend on a combo of players such as gallagher, KLP, Brennan Johnson, Dennis, Cornet, Colwill, Zinchenko, Winks etc
