Realistically, who do you imagine would pay a fee for Gomes and cover his huge wages. The only teams who have shown any interest are in Portugal, there is no way on earth that they could afford even half of his ways and rest assured, sooner than take a wage cut, Gomes will just sit here for the next two years going out on the occasional loan and we will have to pay a large percentage of his salary in order to get him out on loan.

Lets also add, with the knowledge that we had to sell before the deadline, no one else came in for a single one of our players at a possible cut price!
There is an argument to be said, no one is stupid enough to come in for our rubbish players now the financial year has passed at possibly more than they could of got them for last week!
E.g even 4million for Gomes would of helped our books

Signing Jessie Lingard would cost us more money than signing somebody like Potter from Hull.

We were 4 points off it last season and our best player has now left.
There is a bit to go in the window but at this stage we will almost certainly be in the mix.
And players like lingaard if he signs won't make a massive difference I would think anyway.

If and its a big if DCL is not a one season wonder and he's fit and ready for the new season we are likely to be no worse off in terms of goals from last season as things stand, and probably stronger defensively.

One important factor is that we and the team will not be complacent thinking things will come good.
