Still expecting some news in the next fortnight but I wouldn't be surprised either now if most of business is going to be a deadline scramble.

None of us know the full extent of the straitjacket they are having to work against. Trying to spread very limited resources in a moving market and get 3 or 4 players in is a difficult task as we're seeing.

There is a strategy in place and that strategy is not to get mugged off by other clubs like in the past

For ages people have said we should be giving youth a chance, look at what Lampard has done at Chelsea etc. Well now we actually have Lampard in place and we want to just keep throwing money around.

As we’ve seen with Gordon, the youth players actually want to play for us and would then be pure profit if they are sold. It has to be the way forward.

I’m sure we’ll make some signings before the window closes, but I’d much rather see Simms Dobbin Pryce Welch Branthwaite Onyango get squad minutes next season than us buying average players for decent fees.

Pretty much, atm even with the 'broke' narrative, we are still getting quoted (at least reported to be) figures fur players far in excess of their market value (20m for winks, 150k pw Lingard, 30m KLP and MGW) that needs to be reset.

Longer it goes the more the reality to clubs and agents will sink in that what we're offering is the take it or we move on offer.

We'll bring in at least 4-6 more I believe. Couple of loans with options, a couple of mid range deals around 15-20m tops with add-ons loaded back end and one sneaky deal like the Dele one.

I reckon we'll bring in 5-6 mate and at least 4 will be under 23
