Everton Summer Transfer Thread - 2022

It’s very hard to tell. We have been linked with every Chelsea player that’s not in their first team. I guess time will tell. With Gilmour he didn’t do well at Norwich, but maybe that was down to their style of play. When he played in Lampards Chelsea team he often played as a holding midfielder, when they played a 4231 formation, which is what we need.
He’s left Chelsea’s preseason tour and returned to the UK with Broja, Anjorin and Vale. So there is speculation he’s in the move

All 4 of those lads will leave soon

Broja sold, Vale will go on loan to the championship - wouldn't shock me if it was Burnley he went too now Kompany is there Anjorin and Gilmour both will be sold if reasonable offers come in I think, both I believe heave two years left so doubt Chelsea will want to loan them at this point unless it contains an obligation to buy.

For us Vales too raw atm, Broja too expensive, Anjorin played all last season on loan at cb and looked very raw as a dm the season before (going off Chelsea forums) Gilmour had a horrid season st Norwich (who didn't there) but even though he was getting dogs abuse at times he stuck the loan out and worked himself back into the side which shows character.

Depends what Chelsea want for him - around the 10m mark it's a great deal, if you're talking 20m then way too high given how much his stock dropped over the past 12 months.

I have noticed there are a few posters who persistently post inflammatory material to whip others into a frenzy online.

I wonder who they are being paid by to do this ?

I'm waiting for, we tried to get our main targets but couldn't it over the line. I hope you support the two fellas that played for the The Clarence under 21s back in the 90s

I’ve noticed the same mate, I don’t think there’s anything nefarious but the constant negativity and leaping to the worse possible case scenario is just exhausting.

The only saving grace is that we aren’t playing games because I still believe patience with the manager will be wafer thin. There were people annoyed after one pre season game against Arsenal. The same lot talk a good talk about how they’ll back this manager but as soon as a few losses occur it’s straight back to their MO of pushing for a managerial change.

Most likely scenario? (Not guaranteed but most probable based on info we have). We make a few more signings before the start of the season, Lampard has us mid table next season, Moshiri continues to fund the stadium whilst looking for minority investment. We’ll also be another year closer to the bad years rolling off the FFP count back. It’s not as doom and gloom as some are making it out to be in every single post.

I hope you're right mate but would you put it past a Peter Kenyon or even a rival club try to disrupt Evertons already agitated customer base even further for their own unscrupulous ends ?

Not just on the forums either look at twitter, FB groups etc. a constant stream of panic driven hysteria by certain suspects.

Positivity has no place here ?

Even if that were the case, Moshiri is so pig headed that he'd not care one bit !

Don't agree with this to be honest. The evidence last season proves it for me. Fans wanted a change with Benitez because he was the worst appointment we could possibly have made.

The manager has a lot of support. The players have not a lot of support. The board and owner have virtually no support. People seem to have finally realised the problems are the players and the hierarchy
