We have no idea what is going on behind the scenes. Everything could have changed when uzzy got nailed, the Kean money, ffp stuff, ground payments etc etc

They could have waited until end of season (staying up) to discuss requirements etc

It is highly unlikely thelwell has only just started on recruitment

It seems like another guesswork reason for posters to turn on elements of the club

I have noticed there are a few posters who persistently post inflammatory material to whip others into a frenzy online.

I wonder who they are being paid by to do this ?

Agreed, but assuming there are issues with down-payments on deals, it might strike someone in authority at the club that we seem to have a strategy of either wholly or mostly pursuing domestic-based players. It's not like the market begins and ends with Premier League and/or relegated clubs.

Circumstances may have become more restrictive on us, so more than ever we need creativity and flexibility with regard to our approach. It's not like European clubs are going to negotiate with their pants down, but there is likely to be greater potential for value on terms that we can cope with. There are players to be had that we can afford and that will improve us, and it's on the club to have a process that identifies them. Perhaps there is a greater element of risk, but in reality we are only looking to climb a few places in the table.

Yeh, it is disapointing to see most of our targets on our doorstep. There have been a couple of links to young frrench MFs though and, we can still be surprised yet.....holds breath

We've gone from needing 5 players to 1 and struggling at that.

Lingard has turned us down for mk dons whilst Berkeley has signed for Wrexham

Billy whizz stands in his everton kit moaning why no one wants to join. They can't even find a tea lady

Welcome to everton 2022 where even the mediocre players don't want to join. Oh well

Only one player has turned us down and even that was a weak "quote"

This new verse of American Pie is even more cryptic than the old ones.
