Thanks goat, agree hard to grasp just that I was thinking like when we signed sigassun 40m plus wages and a few others the same time ,also when do them figures go away say, wages won't I know if they're still here but the likes of his arnt. Honestly can't understand city pay say 110m for grealish say and mad wages and sign many more on mad wages, I know they're in champions league but don't get it me

It's really simple: City make a lot more money than we do every year. Their commercial activities (shirt sales, sponsorship deals, etc etc) are worth far more than ours.

Add to that the extra prize money from the CL and the fact they actually sell quite effectively: there you go.

It is, and the two permanent signings we're apparently telling Lampard we can make just isn't enough. That's why we need money in to stretch it to 4, and a compromise on the Kean money seems the clearest way.

Everyone structures deals fwiw. We are maybe skimping a little on the front end right now but aside from the mega clubs that don't care most deals are not paid entirely up front.

I get that but EPL clubs seem less keen and it appears we can only afford a small amount up front. If we sourced more reasonable targets from Europe we could afford but there's no imagination. Maybe the lack of a head scout is the issue? Maybe its who Lamps & Kev want is only players with experience of this league this summer.

i could name 5 good targets but it won't be realistic given our FFP situation and inability to pay much money up front

these 5 would probably cost around 150-200 mil

No mate, but you'll find that I don't actually work for the club. I assume we have people who are paid well to do it. Or at least we should.

Surprised Maitland-Niles hasn't cropped up this summer yet, given our RB and CM options are unconvincing. Not saying I'd be excited by it but he's mentioned a lot before and fits the bill position wise.
