Hogwild
Player Valuation: £30m
Let’s see….
Cornet and Dendoncker bought, Gilmour on loan with an option and then maybe a loaned CB from somewhere
Sadly that may be about the best we can hope for
Brilliant thanks goat ,but with the players we have now and players out and next 12 months can we spend, bearing in mind they're transfer fee has gone from that say tax year if you know what I mean![]()
We dont bring enough money in to splash out on players.
The majority of our signings have been possible due to Moshiri investing 30m a season into the business via loans, which is the max the rules allow.
Then there was the USM funding, which bumped up our revenue a bit.
So in order to buy players and keep the lights on we need to sell Richarlison, Lukaku, Stones, Gana AND we also need to increase our revenue or lower our wage bill.
So IMO if we want to splash out on players, we need to increase our revenue, cos our wage bill, is probably where it should be for a club that WANTS to finish 7th or above.
It depends what we spend this window.Brilliant thanks goat ,but with the players we have now and players out and next 12 months can we spend, bearing in mind they're transfer fee has gone from that say tax year if you know what I mean
You’re obviously in a good mood, “awful” is being extremely kind!! Wish I hadn’t read that list before going to bed, the stuff of nightmares. That's awful mate
Can't Mosh just send one of his mates to Everton 2 and get them to order 40 million home shirts my son?![]()

I think we outsource our merch, we get a fixed fee with a pitiful sale %.Can't Mosh just send one of his mates to Everton 2 and get them to order 40 million home shirts my son?
God bless.

It's so perplexing because clubs in Europe are more likely to accept these structured deals we want to do tooThem three additions and we’re still plop. Absolutely grinding my gears that we cannot seem to look beyond the U.K. with our scouting network.
Ditto - that’s doing nothing for us. Looked at that and the first thing that came to my head was Paul Johnson song - down down down down.Them three additions and we’re still plop. Absolutely grinding my gears that we cannot seem to look beyond the U.K. with our scouting network.
Thanks goat, agree hard to grasp just that I was thinking like when we signed sigassun 40m plus wages and a few others the same time ,also when do them figures go away say, wages won't I know if they're still here but the likes of his arnt. Honestly can't understand city pay say 110m for grealish say and mad wages and sign many more on mad wages, I know they're in champions league but don't get it meIt depends what we spend this window.
I mean we have a "kitty" this window, I cant imagine its huge, but money will be spent.
I understand about 5% of the whole thing mate, its way, way too complex for me to fully grasp, the covid situation and the stadium also complicates it further.
I think we need to be prudent, for a little while, there are FFP rule changes coming and who knows what the future holds.
For now I think we have money available, but we really need to make it stretch, prudence, whilst frustrating for the fans, is not a bad thing.
There is clearly a lot of space between the first list and this onesorry let me redo
Messi - Free
Ronaldo - Free
Mbappe - Free
De Bruyne - Free
Son - Free
Everyone structures deals fwiw. We are maybe skimping a little on the front end right now but aside from the mega clubs that don't care most deals are not paid entirely up front. It's so perplexing because clubs in Europe are more likely to accept these structured deals we want to do too
It's a mess mateWe were apparently playing hardball with Juve when they attempted to come to a deal regarding paying less but early for Kean but for me knowing the way we are right now we have to get what we can right now. If we can get only 20mil now instead of the next year's loan fee and the full obligation amount that's worth taking because 20mil could be the difference in staying up and that's worth a lot more.
The consensus is we are trying to stretch a 30 mil budget but a 50 mil budget would be a huge leap. Just using currently linked players as an example, if we say MGW 25 total price, Dendoncker 20, Cornet 17.5, Gilmour 15 (I think a better deal could be done there) that comes to just over 75 total, 45 of our 50 budget is then probably enough to offer on the upfront payments with the rest structured as instalments and clauses to be paid in future years, leaving 5mil for 2 loan fees.
That substantially reinforces midfield and attack, then depending on what Tuchel decides that means we have a loan in our pocket we could ideally use on Broja or Gallagher or whoever Chelsea decide is surplus, and then most likely Winks as the second loan. If we are concerned about right back then Sidibe or Aurier on a 1-2 year free.
No ideal solutions in our situation but to me it seems the Kean money could be key to a (reasonably) successful summer.
