Why if its such a good idea isn't this happening week in week out in the league.
Inverted FBs are.

Wrong footed backs have been used often: United had a spate of them: Neville, Irwin, John O’Shea, da Silva.

I'm thinking out loud. We are not cash rich now because of FFP, so we have to have a coach who thinks ouside the box to utilise what he has and can bring in.

I haven;t even given it any thiugh because it's not an issue. Many others have played wrong-footed for tactical purposes.

We need variety and ways of setting up at the back that improves our CM and also aids our attack.

Imagine Mykolenko cutting insoide and unleashing that left foot from 30 yards or so.

You were literally asked in a previous post to name players that do this - didn't bother - and then type that.

Laughable

Levi Colwill at Chelsea would be nice ;)
A offer mirroring the one saints got for Livoremento would be rather nice, bought him didn't have to pay anything for two years then on the third year the buyback becomes active at a smaller level than usual.

People slate our offers, but that saints one effectively gave them him for free for two seasons then they pay and Chelsea have the option to buy him back straight away for a profit for saints.

Worst case scenario it's effectively a two year loan with no fee and then Chelsea pay them for it.

ok. that being said why continue to argue it would be a good thing because honestly, it's never going to happen and none (of sufficient quelity) exist to purchase for that role.

We're not taking an international left back (and honeslty one of our better players of late) and re-training them to play at right back.

This is a non-starter...
He doesn't have to retrain. He's a footballer who can play across the defence and has done. Mykolenko has played CB before now. Are we to believe he needs training up to play both sides of the pitch? Kenny could do that; is Mykolenko less able than him?

On Vinagre, worth noting that Wolves loaned Vitinha the season before last and had an option to buy him. They passed it up, he went back to Porto and was signed by PSG for £40m this summer.

He’s obviously got something about him. Either way he’ll be a backup player at low cost on a loan - don’t see any issues with it.

I don't think dave has ever played at LB at a sufficient level nor is a left footer.

As someone who is both, Left footers at RB is nigh on impossible because you need to be comfortable enough on your weak foot to challenge block if they go round the outside to get a cross it.

I can say categorically almost all left footers use their right leg for eithe standing on and emergency swipes at the ball... even at the top level.

If you think playing LB & RB are the same (as a left footer) then I can categorically state you are wrong.

And I hardly ever post comments with such finality

Also a left footed full back myself - professional or not, to say someone could just slot over onto their wrong side is fantasy.

And use Kenny of all people as an example, absolutely hopeless no matter what side he was on.

I’d bet my house that Myko will never play right back for us this season. Even more so right wing back.

Coleman. Patterson. Iwobi. Holgate. Godfrey. Mills will all be ahead of him.

Vinagre will come in as cover for mykolenko to enable us to cover that position for 352.

Two right backs, two left backs, five centre backs - plenty of depth jn there now to play lampard’s preferred system. Couple of midfielders and attackers and I’d hope we have enough to get mid table ish…

can you imagine being told 'you're on the right today'

then the LW bombs down the outside and goes to pop a cross in... honestly of the option of wafting my right foot in the general direction or trying to block with the outside of my left... I'd go for the latter. Also overlapping the rw and he knocks it to you in space and you're approaching the ball. I'd abolutely not attempt to cross it with my right.

Right footers do not understand how horiffically one-footed we are as a species lol

Everything you say there is objectively correct.

Subjectively however, we have almost no freedom to spend and desperately need central midfielders (plural) and a right-sided attacker. I suspect the funds available don't stretch to a left back as well, especially one that we purchase solely to make sure another one of our 47 CBs doesn't play.
i've read we will be paying him 16k a week with an option to buy!
Its a no brainer for me! Mykolenko was good at the end of last season but we need a squad.
