Can understand them having to buy a new team having lost a lot of players but it feels like they’re now buying a new team to replace the new team they bought a month ago.
People are rightly asking about the spending but Keiran Maguire has been through the spends I notice and he says its all legit!

I guess it's a question of whether, at 33, he's past it now or if after a full pre-season he's in decent shape. The coaching team will obviously have a good idea of this

His record from 2018-2021 is c.0.4 goals per game, which I wouldn't say is not good. His record at Everton is 0.05 goals per game, which isn't good, but he was unfit coming from China, in the terrible Benitez team, devoid of confidence and also quite a few appearances as sub with fewer minutes
He played about 8 games on the spin when DCL was injured and was bloody dreadful.

Did you see him waddle onto the pitch like Toilet Duck against Dynamo Kyiv??? That was 2 weeks ago and he still looked like he'd only got off the aeroplane from China and soiled his kecks in the process.

There's setting the bar VERY VERY low for what we want in an Everton striker, then there's Rondon.

He'll be playing tomorrow because we have no one else so let's hope he makes a nuisance of himself, occupies their centre halves and creates space for others.

I'd love to know why people are still making excuses about lack of fitness for an international footballer who joined 11 months ago.

It's not even lack of fitness either, because I don't believe he's a poor professional or anything like that. I just think he's way past his best and his legs have gone. He should never have been signed.

I'd take Maupay what do we expect for a back up on a limited budget?
A player who may score. We need to get away from that thinking. We are not like other teams; the only player capable of scoring goals in our side is an injury-prone DCL.

I love the signing of Onana, but he won't add goals. Same for Camara or Gana. Iwobi and Doucoure don't score goals. Gordon and Gray don't score enough for forward players, God knows where we will be able to fit Dele into our system. And we've shot ourselves in the foot by adding another forward who will add nothing in a goalscoring sense to our side in McNeil. It is worrying and Brighton create so many chances and Maupay is one of the biggest culprits fir spurning them. We won't create anywhere near as many chances as they do - or are unlikely to, based on past evidence.

We simply cannot have players in our forward positions who don't contribute goals. Even Adams is a better option and he wouldn't be good enough.

100% Tim.

Even tomorrow, I hope he bangs in a hattrick and wins us the game but no one will be able to turn around and say "I told you so" because he's been here 12 months and shown absolutely nothing.

Those saying he looked fitter end of the season, did you see his red card? That was a tackle from a player unfit and blowing out of his arse because he needed to do a bit of running.

I bet he's a nice fella as well Tim, but the minute he went to China was him retiring from professional football and I've seen nothing to suggest otherwise.
