Everton Summer Transfer Thread - 2022

It's 18 months away but we still need to keep an eye on AFCON in Jan '24- with Gueye likely to come in we could lose him, Doucoure and Iwobi and that's a lot of our midfield gone especially as Allan will be out the door by then too. Then if we go after Dieng or Guirassy that's potentially another one gone.

Shouldn't dictate our entire transfer policy but you don't want next season derailed by losing a bunch of players mid-season.

Terrier also can't play up top though
As a matter of fact he can and has for Rennes quite profitably registering a number of assists in CF.
He can play across the front line and as an attacking midfielder.
My own personal bias is generally opposed to having an old fashioned lunk up front in favour of a more mobile forward.

I’ve just read the analysis of Guirassy on the Echo, they make him sound like the best striker on the planet.

Interesting read.
He's far from the best, but given what we need, I feel he will be the best fit. He is capable of deputising for DCL, or depending on the system, playing alongside him. He also has a proven record of scoring from the bench.

We need more of a wide forward to go with him, which I hope we get too, but Guirassy seems the best central option to me that we've been linked with.

The caveats are that he can be cumbersome and can drift in and out of games. Plus, we don't know how he will adapt to the PL. But he would be a sensible addition imo.
