You appear to have morals and thats great and all, but I would support an owner who had child soliders, if it meant we won a shiny trophy.
No that's actually not even what I was on about. I worry that at some point someone starts looking into exactly where that cash is coming from and we aren't established enough to not be the ones who get an example made of them.

Signing Pope would just be a continuation of the sort of awful business we’ve been doing in recent years. It’s literally the exact opposite of the type of thing we should be looking to do. So in many ways Nick, welcome home.

Exactly we should be looking at the likes of Mike Cooper from Plymouth.

Linked to Mainz CB Moussa Niakhate, he is going into his final year of his contract and could be available for as little as £8m. West Ham are also supposed to be interested.

He is looking for a move to the premier league having already turned down Wolfsburg. The report states that he is on £12k a week at Mainz. I would imagine he would be on 3 or 4 times that in the premier league

I see people have concerns about selling our better players and normally I’d agree with you, but I’ve woken up feeling anarchistic today so I vote to burn the squad down almost entirely and start again, it’ll be interesting if nothing else.

Also a good chance that unless major surgery is done we’ll be in a relegation scrap again next year so why not roll the dice, I’m sick of most of this squad. Reckon we could get £45m for Pickford, £60m for DCL, and £70m for Rich, as well as the £25m for Kean and around £10m for Keane.

I think you’re way, way off here.

The problem is we need to lower our wage bill, we have lost some key sponsors this season and whilst we will get others, I doubt we will find anybody to pay us as much as USM.

We also now need to be thinking about putting aside 25million a year to pay for the Stadium pretty soon.

100% in the process of a 60 multi quote and a squad that contains Simms, Dobbin, Johnson and Buzuna or whatever the lads name is.

Conte needs to be the most insane person in the room.

I was certain I’d wake up to an enormous post focused on the words “GK: Bazunu”.

Dortmund model clearly works in Bundesliga. Not sure it would here. Southampton maybe closest to that model over here.

Both models have weakened the sides eventually, as you either run out of good players to sell, or the replacements just dont work out, one way or another.
Dortmund are absolutely garbage compared to what they were 3/4 years ago

Differences with us would be:

-- If we sold Pickford, DCL, Richarlison, Kean then for most of this season weve only had two of them. If we sold 4 and replaced with 6 then it should make the squad far stronger overall.

-- We have a mishmash of players from numerous managers and two DOFs. Allowing the new DOF to sell to then strengrhen under a singular strategy makes sense.

-- Players like Keane, Mina, Gbamin, Rondon, Gomes, Allan could also be moved on and we'd actually require far less replacements.

The model could work very well for us if we recycle a lot of players in one summer. Then continue with the process to a lesser extent next season as well.

At that point the new stadium should be ready and FFP/Profit and sustainability would be zeroed out for 3 years.

Thats when we add in the top quality to complement the young players who will have been brought in.

Disagree that they're garbage mate. Admittedly Bundesliga isn't "that" competitive and always processional, but they're still a good side.
