Everton Summer Transfer Thread - 2022

I wonder what the fans' reactions will be if we fail to secure what we need, given Moshiri's comments?

Most people on here seem to think we'll be fine as is, but new acquisitions will make us more comfortable- definitely not a view I share.

Will they go for the board, or just muddle on? Moshiri has made a rod for his own back there. Things not looking positive at the moment. Still, 3 and a half days to go. ?

He needs to be held fully accountable after the window, regardless. The dithering in bringing in a striker has cost us at least 4 points so far. 4 points, now looking at the other teams in the league, I don't think we can afford to throw away.

No they don't.
I'd say from having gauged reactions a lot of people don't think we're at significant risk of actually going down, but think we may be involved in a bit of a fight.

I think we'll be long gone before the end of January without more incomings of quality. As in, not mathematically relegated but too far behind and too lacking in quality to keep ourselves up. I expect us and Bournemouth to be properly adrift from the rest.

I'd say it's almost unanimous on here that no one currently thinks the squad is fine.
Thought there seemed to be a lot of 'bed wetters', 'the rest of the PL are trash' comments on here compared to general fans you speak to.

Not sure if it's just a stick your chest out, we're Everton bravado, or they genuinely believe it. But there definitely seems to be more denial on here than on the streets.

Quit the persuit of Gana and Kudus now. We'll end up with nothing and both PSG / Ajax can dangle us on a string right up the the deadline, and for nothing.

Bring in Garner, try again for Broja on loan and try for Pereira also.

I'm still trying to fathom how we've sold 1 starter and since signed 6 players - yet we still appear to be weaker than last season

Everton that
I don’t think some fully appreciated just how much we relied on Richie last year. Our team attacking stats were right down the bottom of the league, creativity, passes in final third, passes into the box, chances/big chances created, team xg. Only stayed up because Richie was a truly top quality player that made goals happen from very little.

Shoul have been held accountable as soon as he made the comment.
Allowing us to almost forfeit half a dozen games is inexcusable for me.

I think there was a sense of willing to take him at his word. The DCL injury changed things completely though. I can cut maybe some slack for not having anyone already in when he got injured, but to have that to continue for 4 weeks is bonkers, and even with the Maupay signing, we are still lacking a capable target man.

And Pickford kept us in a good few games too.
