They didnt seem to inflated to me, i was expecting so much more.
The sponsorship of Finch Farm and the £30m to ‘reserve naming rights’ for BMD were stretching the boundaries of the amounts we could legitimately introduce into our finances and they were closely scrutinised by the authorities as a result.

The naming rights one was looked at because its very “unique”, ita very creative…and i think may have been the first of its kind about.

Im not sure the finch farm deal was anywhere close to being ott.

I think Finch Farm was comparable to that which the top performing teams would expect which certainly didn’t truthfully reflect our standing.
But the salient point is that it was very difficult to introduce any further sums into the club with the authorities (and the other clubs ) keeping very close watch on us.
Usmanov/ Moshiri did well to invest what they did.
Pity it was all wasted like.

Calvert-Lewin, Stones, Holgate, Cahill, Lescott would have been what I would have gone with.

Maddison, Olise, Eze, Bowen more recently.

BUT the real Gs come from Europe, the Mahrezs, the Kantes, the Cr7s.

Didn't Vardy and Pickford come from non-league football?

Chelsea got Pulisic from Dortmund.

We dont have a single DM in the squad.

For that reason we need at least one.

I'd like at least two or a central mid that can deputize as one especially with our potential for injuries and the world cup is probably going exacerbate fatigue and the chances of injury as well
Was thinking about DMs and came across Kristijan Jakic. 25, Croatian, plays for Dinamo Zagreb but spent this season on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he made 26 appearances. Transfermarkt values him around £7m and his current loan deal has an option to buy (no idea of the fee). I wonder if he caught anyone's eye in the EL final against Rangers?

Going down a bit of a Croat-themed rabbit hole I then looked at Duje Caleta-Car. CB with 22 senior international caps, 25 years old, plays for Marseille... Contract there expires in June 2023, valued at £14.5m

These are the sort of players I hope Frank's staff are scouting.
