Has he stated beyond wanting a CL club? He has a value its 60m+ for me and a club will pay it because its reasonable for a player like him he will be even better in the right team.
I don’t know it seems to be only as reported in the press

I don’t think he is going for £60 million or close to, well not to an English club. But hey as I say it’s the market that will determine

That case was an example of article 17 being applied the CAS ruling if I remember was about compensation from breech of contract without just cause but he was outside the protected period
CAS ruled in that case that a Article 17 doesn’t give the right for a player to terminate contract even inside the protected period. Club and player jointly liable for compensation. Player has to have cause.

Probably why Messi waited a further year to leave Barca.

If your in talks to buy a club you’d be mad to let them sell their assets.
Selling a player for £50/60m would make a massive difference to the price you are gonna pay.

Not really, as long as the sale is for fair market value. Selling a 60m asset for 60m pounds doesn’t change the value of the club: either you have the asset, or you have the money (or you then use the money to acquire other assets). Transfer business shouldn’t be effected.

Not sure that can happen because of player book values. I guess, at a stretch, it might work with both of the lads in your example being Chelsea academy products- but I wouldn't bank on it.

A more likely way it could work is if we sell Richie to them for around our £65 mill asking price, we then buy Broja from them for say £20 m and we agree to loan Gallagher from them with an obligation to buy. Think something like that set-up is more likely and would benefit us and them.

I thought clubs could make up fees as they see fit. I am sure in the past I read about two clubs doing a straight swap and the players realistically were worth £20m but they said it was £50m because it looked better on their balance sheet or whatever.

Either way I hope the club is using every angle to scrape an extra pound out of all deals and I am sure Daniel Levy would be all for a bit of manipulating the figures

If we sell Richie to spurs it cannot be in exchange for any of their rejects - Winks, Moura etc. It would be really really worrying direction to go. Winks is an older Tom Davies, came through with lots of hype and never lived up to it - Spurs fans, rightly, think he’s crap and don’t think he’s good enough for their first team, a useless crab of a player. Moria they all think is a hard worker but with no end product.

We sell our best player for either of these or both Levi would rightly be laughing at us. It’s too ridiculous to be true but then, we did lose James and Siggi and replaced them with Townsend and Gray so…

I'd rather have Gray for £1.5M than Siggy for £45M.

Agree, we need cash. If they want to offer anything they give us sixty and we get an option on Winks if anything taking Winks is doing them a favour he's their dead wood. I love this idea Everton should bend no other club bends, 60m is reasonable.

Nope that’s not right a player can using Article 17 terminate his contract the question then arises about compensation.

The sporting just cause is more about professionals having grounds to walk away from their contract for instance if they haven’t been paid for x number of months or professionals not featuring in 10% of first team games
