He was part of Red bulls in the States they will have an extensive database of South American players. Also as others pointed out we should have scouts out there too

He was great last season, but hes matured a lot, hes entering his prime shortly, he will probably still make mistakes, but most if not all Keepers do.

Pope is a much more secure GK.
 
Who can we see breaking through , as much as we’d love 5/6/7 players brought in and the same number going out . It’s just not going to happen . We will need to blood a few surely ? Warrington ? Simms ?Price ?

Wrong.
Pickford was player of the season in his first season.
He then continued to be great until December second season with the origi derby when his head went.
Then he was very unreliable for the rest of the season and the whole next season.
He was then dodgy at the start of Carlo until around half way through where he was injured for a couple weeks and got his head straight.
Since then he’s been our best player for 18 months and won player of the season again.
So basically in five seasons he’s spent around 2.75 seasons as our best player and 2.25 seasons as a liability. Given that the last 1.5 seasons has seen him as our best player, he’s the least of our problems right now.

Some of this will be contradictory, but I'll give my thoughts.

I think we need a 6, but wonder if Zinchenko might be what we are looking for. Look at what we had Delph do. Sit in front of the back 4, take possession and recycle it. A pivot essentially. It's gone it of the game a bit, but it seems Lampard wants this player. Linked with Gilmour and Winks too, who essentially do this job.

Doucoure is a funny one to me. His best performances have come in a 3. It doesnt seem to matter what role, but a 3 suits him. He could also be a 6, in the way he did against Palace, where we just left him to cover the space. Or he could play better forward. Getting the beat out of him is going to be important next season though.

As for Zinchenko, I just wonder if Lampard wants him to do what Delph did a bit for us. Just use his ability on the ball and have him as that pivot to build the team around?

How do think this would balance mate:

Dele- Zinchenko-Doucoure.

Think we need to loose a few bodies in the engine room, Gomes & Gbamin.

He's been ropey to appalling for most of his time here. Disatsrous mistakes and great saves.

Give me a steady Eddie every time.

There is. But Pickford has only recently risen to that challenge.

28 years old and at his maximum markey valiue. Get shut if we can and buy a new GK like Pope and spend elsewhere.

That's the type of good house keeping we haven't seen but now need to see.
