Yeah its almost as if they have a actually competent board who understand football as opposed to the gang of circle jerkers we have here.
Its an interesting lifecycle though isn’t it, Im watching what’s going on at Leicester, they seem to need to sell, before investing to progress, at what point does the growth cycle stop. At what point do you fly to close to the sun.

Brentford are year 2 of PL money, so essentially loads of head room to increase cost, costs slowly rise and you reach a tipping point, after a few seasons.

It’s one of the hardest things to do to stay in PL and become an established club, our record is actually incredible.

Having said that we've flown very close to the sun, flew over it and prob heading back up for our second flight.

You’d wonder how we have scope for cash and Leicester don’t. Can’t get my head around it.
The profits they’ve made on Kante, Mahrez and Maguire alone should have had them sitting quite pretty. Must have gone bananas on wages or something.

No doubt they’ll flog Maddison, Tielemans and Schmeichel and be financially ok but they’ll be dark horses for the drop IMO.

It is not just P&S I believe they have genuine financial problems with owners wanting to tighten their belts (not been a great couple of years for travel in Thailand) They have one eye on a next summer rebuild where they have 10 out of contract

Just looking through their finances there, a lot of their financial growth has been down to that selling players - to boost the next years budget. They haven’t been able to that ove4 the last two years. Despite some good players like Thielmans, Maddison, Branes, Vardy etc, they’ve actually spent alot on players who’ve done little or nothing - that they can’t shift on healthy contracts. Their wage bill at peak was wage to turnover was at 105% - higher then ours really.

While they recorded record turnover this year - north of 200 mill, their costs are very high and they are work g on their traing ground and stadium.

They are actually above the profit and sustainability threshold for losses before Covid losses and other deductions.

A year out of Europe hits them hard.

They are like us seriously have to reduce their wage and cost base or make a sale.

Plus …. Their manager is a total fraud / tosser ! He’ll be getting the sack this season … he’s in one of the envelopes!

Pity were not in a position to move on some of their better players.

Fofana, Tielemans, Ndidi and Barnes would have been good targets.
