Everton Summer Transfer Thread - 2022

I don’t believe that bid is real, but don’t underestimate how stupid Chelsea could be. They seem to have massive Big Club Syndrome going on and maybe their ego simply won’t let them miss out on a target. United the same, paying the best part of 100m for a lad from the Eredivisie because their ego won’t let them walk away. We’ve even seen it ourselves when we ended up paying way, way over the odds for Sigurdsson because we couldn’t let go of a target.

It’s the deal we should be asking for, and seeing the way certain clubs are getting rinsed you never know.
Also they’ve let their £100m+ striker this summer go out on loan just because he was a bit of a knob. If they’re happy to get rid of a player like Lukaku who they invested so much in then really they’d have no problem getting rid of 2 young players that they probably aren’t all that fussed about to begin with.

I know it’s a new ownership but Chelsea haven’t given a crap about their young players for about 20 years, James and Mount are the only 2 to have come through and stayed there and funnily enough that was mostly because Lampard was there and they had a transfer ban. They’re both very good, James especially, but when you look at the likes of Tomori and Abraham going out a few years ago and becoming 2 of Serie A’s best players Chelsea were happy to just throw endless money at a problem, which they can do.

Gallagher and Broja might come here and become very good PL players but not reach their full potential, they’d still not be good enough for Chelsea but we’d benefit greatly still, on the flip side Gordon might go there and flop and they couldn’t care less because they’ll just buy someone else. Obviously the opposites could be true but that’s just the difference in the clubs, Chelsea can make deals like this and it doesn’t really matter, whereas we spent £25m on Gbamin for example a few years ago and we’re still suffering from it.

I thought we were insane to be turning down anything over £40m for him if we’re being honest but this deal is honestly insanely good. Sorts out 2 issues we have and then leaves us money left over too.

No reason that we couldn’t get a winger in for £25m to replace Gordon or better yet we could not play wingers and go 2 up top with Maupay and Broja, until Calvert Lewin is back and play Gallagher, Iwobi and Onana in midfield. Defence can stay as it is in terms of personnel but have Myko and Patterson get forward more as proper wing backs.

That’d be an out of this world improvement on the team we had last season.
It’s pure fantasy manager stuff at the moment but put the 25m up for Joao Pedro and he gives you an option in both the 343 or the 352. And suddenly your squad has 4 extremely big u21 prospects in Onana, Broja, Pedro and Patterson.

Cash offers in excess of 60m only please or go away Chelsea

Gallagher has been awful this season as well and has a suspension now.

Usually id agree with you but in this current climate where Gordon has a £60m price tag, pedro is going for £30m and Adams is rated at £25m.

At this stage of the window where getting targets will be difficult to get in and the more money we get the more expensive our targets become. Getting 2 of the most highly rated young players in the league in plus £25m is incredibly good business IMO.

If you could get Garner, gana, Gallagher, kudus and broja all in +£15m and loose Gordon i think we'd be a much stronger side all in all.

Myers is leaving it open as he does with everything, then will claim he knew all along

Yup funny as can be pretty certain it's all bs, even just based on the fact if you offer a player like that as a makeweight on a deal then you've signalled massively they're unwanted and reduce their value instantly
