Indeed, we posted loses of 380million.

Not a single thing was done, stick a fork in Profit and Loss, its over.

The Premier League have opened the floodgates, the only reason we cant spend is cos Moshiri has closed his wallet or rather, diverting his funds to the Stadium.
A slightly more Tin Foil explanation is his Russian bag holder had his assets frozen. Leak some comments to the press about P&L fears and close the wallet.

FFP has gone, forget about it.

You only have to look around the League to see that every single club has forgotten about it.
The party is happening because clubs are recovering and the league is still letting clubs ignore capital costs, among other things, in sustainability calculations. Sooner or later, the rules are likely to go back to the way things were. Fortunately, we're building the new stadium now when the losses don't count, and we should be able to patch things up with the new revenue stream once it comes online.

Notice that Levy hasn't gone nuts despite having the strongest financial position in the league and Conte demanding new toys. He bought our best player, and made a couple other minor additions. He'll be circling like the vulture he is in a couple of years when the league reverts the rules. If we play our cards well over the next couple of years, we may be in position to snap up some less-heralded bargains.

I mean everybody saying "what about FFP" when other teams are spending, im fairly sure they all said the same when we bought everything with a pulse.

No way are Southampton spending £35-40m on one player

Why’s it a big deal that we keep Gordon? If Chelsea really wanted him they’d have signed him last week, except they never even bid
Well they did bid, they just didn't bid £60m. We need to sell him to generate funds to buy players to keep us in the division. Gordon's got decent potential, but he won't keep us up and our squad is utterly hopeless. Factor in that we are once more seeming to only look at the rejects of other teams we are trying to compete with, now the end of the window is approaching, and we are bang in trouble.

Should have taken anything over £30m for Gordon imo.

You could argue that they let us be the canary in the coalmine. My point is just that there are some structural things that have contributed to the buying spree. Odds are that a lot of the players that go in this window will lose a lot of value once the Prem says it's time to return to business as usual. Sooner or later, there will be enough votes to shaft this window's big spenders to get that change through.

They didn’t make a bid, Frank confirmed as such

The single worst part of the entire team last season was centre mid

So far we've added precisely Onana and nothing else, lost Dacoure to injury.

We a million percent need to be bringing in at least two midfielders
We have Iwobi. Things won't look so bad when we have Gana, Onana and Iwobi available. Doucoure would be a good squad member.
