So looks like Gana, Garner and another striker / wide forward as suggested by Ornstein, which is explains the stories last night about the lad from Villarreal.

I’d say with a few going out that would be a pretty decent window and give FL a good chance to totally rebuild this squad.

Hopefully outs being Gomes, Allan and Rondon if any clubs are daft enough to take him.
We need an agile lump up front to be able to hold a ball up, watching the second half yesterday the get out ball was knocked long for Gr

We need an agile lump who can hold a ball upfront , get out ball in the second half was to lump it to Gray and it just kept coming back, unless we're going to be hitting feet all the time we need that option and we as everyone seems to agree cant rely on Lewin staying fit

It's the ol' Everton binary syndrome where fans believe we're amazing or horrendous, with nothing in between. It's exactly the same with the players.

I wouldn't say McNeil and Davies played well last night, but equally I don't think they were poor. All in all, I think we've played better than last season.

When it comes to the transfer window, apart from Richarlison leaving I'd say it'd be incredibly difficult to argue that our squad hasn't improved.

If we could bring in one or two more faces and jettison some of our bloated midfielders, we should have a squad that should comfortably be midtable.
Agree that we can't fault the players efforts last night. But you can still see McNeill and Davies are not quite good enough at this level, far too slow. We only had 30% possession against a lower table team, so we need quality ball carriers in midfield instead of them. Onana is a start, but we need more posession play making skilled options as Gueye also does not offer that.

He still does though. It's where he always plays for England. He didn't at Forest but only because they played with 2 mids.
Mainly due to how England play and a lack of personnel yes he does. He's not the same type of player as Warrington though its like comparing Onana with Gueye, sure onana can play deepest as seen last night but looks like he will be better box to box. Either way it's not an either or situation since Warrington probably needs at least 1 more loan

Morning all, as we enter the penultimate day it looks like we’ll get at least one deal done today and hopefully a few more across the next 48 hours. Strap in and enjoy.

On Friday Frank Lampard said Chelsea had to submit their improved bid for Anthony Gordon before a deadline and with around 48 hours of the window remaining, he confirmed that deadline had passed.

When asked whether Chelsea had missed the deadline to sign Gordon, Lampard's response was short but firm: "Yes." He added: "Anthony is too important a player. He has shown his worth in the last two games. It is too late. He is going to be special. In the bigger picture, he has an affiliation with the fans. It is a process. Can we build around that?

The Telegraph reports Everton and Leeds have joined Southampton in a race for 23-year-old PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo. His side rejected a 25m euro (£21.4m) bid from the Saints earlier this week.

Everton are now moving to sign Watford striker Joao Pedro after the draw to Leeds, with the Daily Mail reporting that he could follow Neal Maupay to Goodison Park. The Daily Mail reports that Everton have now revived their interest in Pedro and are moving to sign him.

Everton are set to pay Paris Saint-Germain £8m to complete the signing of Idrissa Gueye, who will have his medical today according to Alan Myers. “I’m told Gana Gueye will cost Everton around €10m (£8m). Expected to have medical tomorrow,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account on the evening of 30 August.

And

The Daily Mail claim that both Arsenal and Chelsea have made ‘late advances’ to try and sign Gueye from PSG. The report claims that Gueye is signing a two-year deal at Everton having been told that he was free to leave by Paris Saint-Germain boss Christophe Galtier.

Everton appear to be willing to allow Venezuelan striker Salomon Rondon to leave the club before deadline day, according to recent reports. Writing on Twitter about the future of the 32-year-old, journalist Pete O’Rourke revealed: “Everton are in talks to offload Salomon Rondon before the transfer window closes on Thursday.”

Newcastle United have hijacked Everton’s deal for Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker. The Toffees have had an £8.5m bid rejected for the 27-year-old rejected, but are set to return with an improved offer. But the Belgian international is now also on the radar of the Magpies. (Football Insider)

Sporting Lisbon are understood to be ramping up their efforts to sign Arthur Melo from Juventus, depsite Everton reportedly opening talks with the midfielder. A sticking point with Melo has been his wages, but according to Calciomercato, The Old Lady are now prepared to cover this cost in order to loan him out before the transfer window closes.

TuttoMercatoWEB reports that Everton have been looking at the terms of a season-long switch, with a loan fee likely to be required instead of cover the 26-year-olds wages of around £131,000 per week

Everton are reportedly still interested in bringing James Garner to Goodison Park before tomorrow's transfer deadline day. But the Blues face competition from Southampton, who according to Fabrizio Romano, had an offer rejected by Manchester United last weekend. Speaking to Wett Freunde, Romano said:

“And Garner could be a permanent deal. Because Southampton made an offer over the weekend but Man Utd declined. But Everton are also interested.”

“In the next 24-48 hours, (James) Garner could be the next player to leave Man Utd.”

Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk has raised hopes of a potential £30 million move to the Emirates Stadium by liking a post on Instagram linking him with the Premier League giants, via The Metro. According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are looking into a late deal for Mudryk. The Gunners are in talks with his representatives, and are currently leading the chase. This comes after Everton failed with a £25 million offer of their own, having potentially identified Mudryk as a replacement for the departed Richarlison (Football24).

Everton are seriously interested in signing Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze and have already had talks about potentially signing him. Villarreal are willing to sell him if they receive an acceptable bid. The clubs will have advanced talks on Wednesday. (Source: AS)

We'll agree to disagree.

Gomes looked the business on loan.

Since then he’s more bin the dogs business.

Another one who will see his lucrative contract out rather than move on to actually play football.
