Wouldn't surprise me if Maupay is utilised more oot wide in the Richarlison role and someone like Diaz comes in as back up to Lewin.

It's the lack of options which is mad. Dominic Calvert-Lewin can't be relied on to be fit so then we essentially just have Maupay as a striker because Rondon isn't one. We don't even have any kids as an option because they've all gone out on loan.

Even our other attacker options are lacking. Townsend won't be back until new year, imagine if Gray or Gordon or both at the same time picked up an injury. We'd have to move Iwobi out wide or Vinagre.

Yep this is the biggest issue for me. We were never going to be able to improve on DCL at CF. Maupay can provide a decent amount of what Richy did (Richy regressed as a goal threat over the last two seasons) and is great cover for Dom's injuries. Looks like we're going to get a lot more out of Gordon this season.

But our depth in attack is shocking...we didn't even keep any youngsters. As you say there's literally nobody. McNeil and Iwobi really aren't forwards but they are going to spend a lot of time there, McNeil is at least. At the beginning of the summer I thought the plan should be to insure that Gordon and Gray were rotational options until they prove otherwise. Gordon appears to be proving that, but for Gray we saw this script last year.

Bottom line, we're going to get a lot of draws this season.
