Over to you lids ;)
An attacking rb. Our right side last season carried very little attacking threat. A commanding centre half who can stay fit. Kean is nearly always available, but has the turning circle of the Titanic, and often misjudges high hanging balls.
A defensive centre mid, who can distribute the ball going forward. Don't think Allan, the Lidl Peter Reid is the answer. Injury prone, and slower than me buying a round. Doucoure isn't a bad player though.
Can't see Rodriguez sticking around, under RB. So a top class number 10 would be nice. I don't want us to mend and make do with the likes of Sigurdsson and Gomes. They are a pair of chancers, who don't pull their weight imho.
Finally, assuming Richie and DCL are staying, a pacy winger who can work the flanks, getting up and down, would be lovely, instead of the monopaced Bernard, Iwobi and the like.
I don't want much.....

One thing I am hopeful for under Benitez is just lowering the investment amounts on single players. In other words diversifying the pool of investments over multiple players oppose to isolated signings. We have consistently bought at or above market price for what end up stagnated or depreciating assets. His history is checkered but shows signs of investing diligently.

If you look over Benitez career, he often spends big on a key market signing, but then a lot over multiple players for much smaller investments. Is he out of date or apt to the modern tendencies to trust his scouting (or Brands's for that matter) is to be determined. But the team collectively should be looking for better value and more upside plays despite their willingness to spend. this team rarely takes a flyer on the cheap in recent memory. Some will miss but some will hit big. Doing that under the 20 million line, with a younger profile is wise as we enter the market in need of changes.

This won’t be popular but hey neither was/is Benitez! I think we should go get Dan James from Utd. Boy has lethal pace and will be keen to prove a point now they’ve bought Sancho in.
Traditionally, players with something to prove do better for us…
I understand your point but I’ve watched a lot of Dan James and he is basically a worse version of Walcott (at the same age). Really don’t think he is the type of player we need. We need pace but not pace at the expense of everything else.

Haha maybe but I saw enough from him for Wales to see that he has got 2 key ingredients - pace and directness. We need more of that. He needs to improve for sure but age on his side..
That might be true but the problem is he is no different of a player he was when the Leeds attempted signing happened. The difference of course is now you are paying an inflated Manchester United by association price. All while he hasn't provided a large enough sample, gotten older and isn't now a value proposition the way he was at Swansea.

I just think we fall for this two often looking for cast offs of larger clubs and don't look elsewhere where value is at least afforded for similar risk. Look at the like of Christos Tzolis to name one player as an option comparatively who despite playing in Greece is possibly a higher end prospect currently and would likely be a bet at a far cheaper risk.

A loan is a different question but we should be looking at teams below us either in resources internationally or below us in position or table more often than we do.

Yep, fair points though greater risk bringing someone new into a country to settle etc. I don’t know, I just like a player with something to prove.. maybe Dan isn’t that sort, I don’t know, but he impressed me for Wales when his brief was basically get at the full back and get a cross in.
