Everton Summer transfers 2021

That might be true but the problem is he is no different of a player he was when the Leeds attempted signing happened. The difference of course is now you are paying an inflated Manchester United by association price. All while he hasn't provided a large enough sample, gotten older and isn't now a value proposition the way he was at Swansea.

I just think we fall for this two often looking for cast offs of larger clubs and don't look elsewhere where value is at least afforded for similar risk. Look at the like of Christos Tzolis to name one player as an option comparatively who despite playing in Greece is possibly a higher end prospect currently and would likely be a bet at a far cheaper risk.

A loan is a different question but we should be looking at teams below us either in resources internationally or below us in position or table more often than we do.
I feel the players mentality is every bit as important as their actual footballing ability. How many of our players have we seen in the last few years, looking totally disinterested in putting in anything resembling a shift on the pitch?
Gomes, Sigurdsson, Davies at times, Richarlison, Bernard, Iwobi, Delph. It's a basic requirement to be "at it" in the premier league. Any player can have an off day, but continuous lack lustre performances, where some of them listed, make sure they are unavailable for the pass, is criminal. They are not prepared to sprint into space to receive. Not prepared to make a run from deep. The non stop sideways and backwards passes are also a symptom of this "style" of play, from players, who are busy doing NOTHING. It creates a team bereft of confidence to attempt a forward ball over the top of the full back, or down the sides of centre halves.
We need shut of these type of players. Their attitude spreads like a cancer throughout the team and the club. Stealing a living, some of them...

Interesting Southall mentioned;

James likely off
Richarlison possibly off
Gomes/Delph/Iwobi/Bernard as deadwood

The deadwood i agree on and theres more of it to be punted out...
Not interesting at all. Just his 'opinion' which is about as valid as yours or mine. He has no current connection with the club. The worlds best goalkeeper for at least three years, but nothing of note since, but thats not his fault, its just that his glory years were when he was younger.

One real positive about Benitez is there will be no swallowing broken promises and lack of investment. He'll go public at the first whiff of any shenanigans. I don't think it'll come to that, though. I very much doubt he signed up to be given another Mike Ashley-style budget. He knows full well that only tangible success can keep him in the job given the climate around him. And success doesn't come on a shoestring.
You're right . He won't miss an opportunity to deflect blame and throw some under the bus.
It his modus operandi

Surely RB and Brands will have to agree targets this talk of RB dictating transfers is part of the problem with how the DOF has been(not) working in recent years. Our needs are glaring and a manager who is probably short term shouldn't be the one choosing every player.

If Olsen stays, we don't need another keeper. Pickford looks like he could win goalkeepers prize at the Euros, and will carry his form into next season. There has been an obvious upgrade in his play over the last 18 games or so(12 clean sheets?)
I meant as a backup. Olsen isn't staying

Unfair call. Are you suggesting that he was wrong to call out Ashley? And the two cowboys who nearly bankrupted the RS? Any other examples?

Olsen returned to Italy when his loan was up.
Couldn't get out of the Country quick enough. An gang armed with machetes threatening your wife and kids in their own home before stealing what valuables they could get away with will do that.

As I said above. Wasn't sure he'd actually gone...so if we got the Euro number one and Virginia, we need another good back up.

I find it difficult to criticise Benitez for calling Mike Ashley, Hicks, Gillett, and Florentino Perez out for the charlatans they are.

No need to fret, though. If he does unfairly criticise Moshiri, he won't be long for his job.
