I'm not really one to believe them normally, but it would make sense that we are not intending to spend £50 million of a limited transfer budget on a single player for a position that isn't essential this summer.

It shouldnt be limited....£55mil a year net spend over 4 years isnt enough.

55m Net a season is more than enough, if spent well.
