Everton Summer transfers 2021

PSG - "We want Moise Kean on loan, we will pay a loan fee and his wages"
Everton - "Nope, permanent deal or nothing"
PSG - "loan or nothing. You can't sell him to anyone else as we know he only wants to come here"
Everton - "Ok, we'll keep him then"
Kean - "Sound, I'll sit here, not play, collect my wages and run my contract down"

Not a very smart business decision.

PSG know they have us over a barrel unless we keep him and play him, which with DCL around is incredibly unlikely. The best we can hope for here is that we get PSG to agree to an obligation to buy him as part of the loan deal.

So according to you kean is going to refuse to play for 3 years destroy his development and probably his career because he cant get a move to psg?

I very much doubt that. The only way a scenario like the one you just said is when a already established player has 1 year left to go on his contract. Even then they still end up playing.

What will happen is he'll not get his move, have a cob on for a few weeks and then realise that he has to start pulling his socks up. Whether he can be at a consistent level in training and on the pitch to be successful at everton or not is a different matter but thats what will happen.

I get what your saying but at his age it’s a big risk for a club that doesn’t apparently want to pay to sign him . Your saying he’ll risk ruining his career for a club that he won’t even end up at in a couple of years , seems a bit crazy to me
To be saying that though, we have to assume he sees the bigger picture in that way. If we keep him, that only makes sense if we can use him. We can only use him if he can be trusted to give it his all, or at least enough to be of benefit to us on the pitch. If we have any cause to believe that he’d down tools to any degree if he was made to stay, then our hand is forced more than PSG’s would be because it’s the only way (unless another interested club emerges) we could get anything out of our investment over the next year.

Of course, you’d like to think we’re pushing the issue hard from our side but we never really know what’s happening behind the scenes and my overarching point in all of my waffle is that a loan outcome wouldn’t mean we’ve failed or that Brands is crap at his job. There’s a lot of moving parts and it may be that a loan is the only acceptable outcome for all parties when all is said and done.

According to reports Palace willing to sell Wilf for offers over £35 million.

If Benitez goes 4231 he would be a great signing considering he can play both LW/RW and Richarlison will miss the first few games of the season due to being a selfish sod.
My same argument for three years now is:

Is he better than Iwobi. Then yes I'll take him no problem

You’re assuming a level of maturity and common sense on his part that we don’t know he has though, mate.

When he’s played for us - and let’s assume he was trying his hardest - he hasn’t been good enough. If he stays here he has to work hard and probably make some lifestyle changes to acquire the kind of strength he needs to get by in this league and our team. Can we safely say his head won’t drop, or that he just won’t fancy it at all?

We’d all love it to be as simple as “if we keep him he has to play and we’ll see the wonder kid we thought we were getting” but it isn’t.

I guess, and it is absolutely just a guess, that there is some combination of him not wanting to play for Everton and Everton not wanting him at work here; ordinarily you wouldn’t dream of shifting potential first teamers out in a manager’s first week in the job unless the relationship seemed dead and buried. That’s why I think our hand isn’t as strong as we’d like it to be in the loan vs sale debate.

That makes most of @Zatara stuff look normal.

That`s a really hard thing to do.

Congratulations.

Does “better than Iwobi” equal “good enough for Everton”? Especially when the outlay will be similar to the Iwobi fee?

Two wrongs don’t make a right. We bought a big fish from a small pond in Sigurdsson and no matter what you think of him, you can’t argue it’s been a success. Zaha reeks of a transfer failure to me, always has.

Except zaha, there is still no rumors for the wingers…It is much more important than CB and even the RB. I dont think james will stay here or even he is suitable for this position…Very worried we dont have proper Wingers in the start of season…

Who would buy Sigurdsson and take on his wages?

Who would buy Bernard and take on his wages?

The richest club in world football won’t part with actual cash for Kean.

Who would buy Tosun and take on his wages?

Holgate - Maybe.

Kenny - Maybe.

Delph - Who would take on his wages?

Who would buy Iwobi and take on his wages?

Other than that, though, solid argument.

We won't be selling most of them.

Or a righback or a midfielder or a striker.
