Everton Summer transfers 2021

Digne assisted 7 goals last season , Coleman 3. Not sure 4 more goals would have helped us that much more . I'd rather have a RW who can chip in with DCL and Richy. I'd say a new RB is fourth on our list of priorities.
It’s not just about assists. Not disrespect to Coleman, but he’s also poor in possession and constantly goes backwards.

Had we had a Quality RB, tgat would have opened up more space for Digne and maybe the rest of the team.

I agree about a RW that scores, but James got 6 goals and played half the season. The new RB may only get 3 assists, but If he’s got energy and pace and is technically good, that will benefit the team long term.

He's an absolute abomination at trying to pass the ball

But this is why you just bring him back then. That's our leverage. We need depth and he's got 3 years to run so bring him back and use him. And believe that the new guy you hired is capable of getting something from him.
Bit disingenuous though isn’t it? Let Benitez make a rod for his own back by not getting a tune out of a player that a couple of managers have already failed to do the same with? And you said yourself he’s not cut out for RB’s style even notwithstanding his previous lack of ability/endeavour.

Again, “just keep him and play him” would be a far more convincing argument if he’d shown the merest desire to do well for us up to this point.

Coleman got as many assists as Cancelo for city last season and more than Zinchenko. More assists and goals from midfield needed , and a RW who can score 10/15 should be the first priority.

Your not listening to people. Open up your own tread and argue Witt your self.

Cancelo was fantastic last season and streets ahead of Coleman. And like I’ve said James got 6 goals mainly playing off the RW and he missed half the season

Cancelo was fantastic but only had three assists. If you have other ways of playing rather than cross , cross , cross and players in midfield who can hold on to the ball it's a whole new ball game.

I disagree that he doesn't try. There's no point in discussing it further if your feeling is he didn't try.

Kean will either go for money or not at all, Brands won’t loan him out again as he’s no mug despite some suggestions to the contrary on here.

Don’t doubt at all that James has his agent working to get him a move.

The alternative opinion would be that he DOES try, and yet at the time of his transfer to PSG he wasn’t doing anything with the opportunities he was given here. I still think that’s a dodgy basis on which to take the gamble of keeping him here.
He wasn't really given opportunities though. I think he scored on his last two league starts. They came 5 months apart (actually like 8 but take out the pandemic hiatus).
