Everton Summer transfers 2021

The 2 players who score goals need service.

Of course a RB isnt all we need, but if you said we could only sign 1 player for me it would be a RB.
Totally changes the way we attack. Having 2 fall backs who can get up and down and deliver good service is key. Teams focus heavily on our left to try and contain dinge. Having a player on the right means teams have something eles to think about.

We will make more chances with a quality RB
For me if we had a RB of Digne’s quality and a Coleman or Holgate at left back, i think we have done better last season.

Digne from the left 90% of the time has one target DCL. James isn’t coming in off the right, or Iwobi. Maybe a Doucoure, though he was quite defensive last season, due to the club not having a proper number 6. And maybe siggurdsson if he was playing in the 10role.

But from the right you have 2 strikers to aim for with Richarlison, who is also great in the air. Also defending teams, will basically block off the left side more than the right.

We need two tbh - Benard and Iwobi cant be relied upon so realistically having a Zaha who can cover both flanks + someone like Olise/Pereira gives us much more options.

Ultimately its a squad game and we need to start fleshing out the squad with quality.

If we can offload Benard & IwobI this summer we have to bring in a mixture of potential and experienced quality.
If the options are to keep them or sign Zaha we're better off keeping them and not doing additional damage

I'd say getting a right winger in who can score 10/15 goals a season was more important than a new RB. And I'd probably put getting another Doucoure type midfielder who can carry the ball ahead of a RB aswell.

Are people still screaming for Zaha? It was too late last year, going for him now is idiotic. Super high wages for a player closing in on the end who wasn't that good to begin with. His best season based on goals and assists is barely better than Mirallas best season for us. Not worth a big fee and big wage.
Absolutely spot on. Zaha is exactly the type of player we should avoid - expensive, would want huge wages, has already failed at a big club, will be 29 soon therefore will not improve and we'd never find a buyer if we wanted to get rid of him. It would be Sigurdsson all over again.

It depends though. Goals don't just magically happen, we need the rest of the team to function and right now if you plopped a goal scorer who offered little else on our right we would not function.

Have you time travelled from the 70s where all full backs had to do was stand midway inside their own half and boot the ball up the field occasionally? We cannot start the season with Seamus Coleman as our first choice right back, that is comprehensively out of the question.

Digne assisted 7 goals last season , Coleman 3. Not sure 4 more goals would have helped us that much more . I'd rather have a RW who can chip in with DCL and Richy. I'd say a new RB is fourth on our list of priorities.
