He’s still crapZouma?
No shame not to get in that chelsea side like
He's 25. He hardly played 90 minutes for Fulham In any game last season . Fulham. Not Chelsea. He's a myth of a player
To be fair mikey, you were telling everyone that Sadio Berahino was going to be a world starI think you’re wrong on this one
I’ve been a longtime admirer of him and think his style of play is what we need
He’s a strong athletic lad who can also play
What’s more, I think he’s hungry
Whenever I saw him play last season he looked good. How much he played honestly doesn’t bother me. It could have all been down to a personality clash with the coach
Palace fans raved about him when he was there

If he was that good . And that hungry why did he not complete 90 minutes for Fulham in any of their last 10 games last season.I think you’re wrong on this one

Interesting that this convo sprang up from talking about gambling on Championship talent and yet the examples you cite were all from abroad.@Brett Angell Delight
If we used our budget on signing 3 players u21 (like the profiles Leicester went for with Ndidi, Fofana, Tielemans etc) then that would make alot of sense.
The only two reasons not to do this are:
1: A short term approach which fails every time.
2: A poor quality scouting network
We have enough 'experienced' players, we need to now focus on building a young side.
It strikes me though that Benitez isnt going to do that...we'll see this window.
I agree with you mate. I keep seeing this question about why we don’t gamble on younger talent and I think you’ve answered it yourself - The Benitez appointment reeks of an attempt at “stability”. Build a solid, dependable team to work and bore our way to a higher than 10th finish, and then build on or behind that with a stream of younger talent ready to take us to the next level.Well the same reports said that we had been monitoring him for some time.
I'm expecting lots of unspectacular Benitez style signings tbh. Like when he signed Rondon for the Geordies. Solid players for a lower mid-table club. Not expecting us to sign much in the way of exciting young talent.
Even Damsgaard would be a better and younger player than I would expect us to actually sign. My issue with that as a potential transfer is why we aren't signing these kinds of players 18 months before their value skyrockets.

He's another barkley. A bit of ability but not goin to come to a side and push them up the table.

And Iwobi just has to be good at footy.Looked good last season from what I saw
Just has to stay healthy
So you want to sign a player in part due to his athleticism but you’re not bothered that he can’t play full games? And the spell at Palace that you’re citing as proof he’d be good enough you are saying was cut short by injury? Why do you have to play the full 90 for it to count as a game played?
How many times did James actually play for us last season under that criteria?
Again, you’re focusing on one isolated spell of his career
At Palace he played well and earned himself another crack at Chelsea before injuries scuttled it
Why does fulham override palace?
When he played he looked good. How long he spent on the pitch doesn’t really bother me. It’s the first bit that matters
If you are playin 20 minutes and less and games then there is a reason for that surely. Why do you have to play the full 90 for it to count as a game played?

Cracking player but didn’t they give him a stupid wage to keep him out of Bayern’s clutches? For me the Chelsea target is Hudson-Odoi
