I think the expectations for 21-22 need to be adjusted - or identified - in order to get a holistic view of the transfer window.
This is an 8-12th place Premier League side as currently constructed. Can you make enough key signings, given the budget and current wage bill, to solidify a chance to land in the Top 6? Maybe - but it will be tough. What helps us is Arsenal and Tottenham are both chaotic right now.
Given that stance, it makes sense that Dumfries has been made a priority. I believe that signing is close to done and will be announced next week.
Other than that, it doesn't sound like there is much else close to completion. We're likely waiting for James, Kean and Richarlison to tell us if they want to stay. If they want to leave, it's smart to wait til you have their transfer fees in the budget before you sign bargain replacements.
