I think the expectations for 21-22 need to be adjusted - or identified - in order to get a holistic view of the transfer window.

This is an 8-12th place Premier League side as currently constructed. Can you make enough key signings, given the budget and current wage bill, to solidify a chance to land in the Top 6? Maybe - but it will be tough. What helps us is Arsenal and Tottenham are both chaotic right now.

Given that stance, it makes sense that Dumfries has been made a priority. I believe that signing is close to done and will be announced next week.

Other than that, it doesn't sound like there is much else close to completion. We're likely waiting for James, Kean and Richarlison to tell us if they want to stay. If they want to leave, it's smart to wait til you have their transfer fees in the budget before you sign bargain replacements.

Would think him or a Ramain Faivre type might be good if the prices aren't too inflated. The price is the thing and I'm afraid Damsgaard will be too overvalued.

Well the same reports said that we had been monitoring him for some time.

I'm expecting lots of unspectacular Benitez style signings tbh. Like when he signed Rondon for the Geordies. Solid players for a lower mid-table club. Not expecting us to sign much in the way of exciting young talent.

Even Damsgaard would be a better and younger player than I would expect us to actually sign. My issue with that as a potential transfer is why we aren't signing these kinds of players 18 months before their value skyrockets.

We’re the club his agent will point to in his Spurs negotiations in order to get a better appearance bonus or some suc
