Hes athletic, physical and driven but he's not exactly a good footballer...

Surely we want good footballers and its a bonus if theyre athletic?

I didnt watch the euros but he must have been a different player, or massively improved



We dont have any holding midfielders though.

If we signed Dumfries and went with that system then i imagine Doucoure would be playing both right sided defensive mid and right back.

We definitely need a right back and if were not in for Aarons due to price then we should be after Emerson at Barca -- theyre desperate for money.

I dont see james on the right...hes the centre of the 3 in a 4231.

Talking of full backs...I see Arsenal have signed Tavares, a cracking player , Benfica must be missing an angel ( one for the older readers).

A 9 is a striker so a false 9 is a “fake” striker. Ergo playing a midfielder or winger as a 9.

Zouma received stick on here but better than the [Poor language removed] we have to endure every week. Holgate and Keane need volleying into the Mersey.

ASM is obviously a lazy link, but just looked and he's missed 33 games over the past 2 seasons through injurylol

Don't understand this at all. He was excellent for us, and he's been excellent since he left us. Class act.

if you look at Digne, I reckon he was much more of an attacking threat playing full back than further up the pitch. Play full backs as full backs, have the right partner/blend ahead of them. Steven/Stevens; Pienaar/Baines; Van den Hauwe/Sheedy. Real attacking threat from both sides.

Yes I agree. Digne is a great player, but I’m not sure he has the pace or dynamism to be a top class wing back. At times when we played wing backs last season, he looked no different to when he plays left back in a 4.

In Dumfries, you would think a good coach, should be able to mould him in to a very good full back in a 4. He has all the attributes. Tall, powerful, fast.
