Don't understand this at all. He was excellent for us, and he's been excellent since he left us. Class act.
It’s bizarre…The campaign to get him signed showed how much he was wanted. Everyone seems to be rewriting his impact here cause he jilted us in favour of a champions league winners medal.

I can’t see what’s not like about an experienced left sided centre half that knows the club, at a good age, who’s lightening quick, can’t half jump, is good in the air, brilliant in 1 on 1s, an excellent tackler and keeps it nice and simple when he’s on the ball.

If Godfrey progresses like we all hope, he and Zouma would be a great partnership.

It’s madness to think the left sided centre half who keeps Upamencano and Konate out the French squad wouldn’t considerably improve us.

We don’t even have a senior left sided centre half on our books.

…I think he was a very good partner for Keane. The times in a game he would get behind Keane to get a toe in or stop a runner was a huge support.
Interesting that. We have had a number of occasions at Palace where the best individual CB was kept out by lesser individuals because together the lesser players made far and away the best pair.
I often wonder if and how that is considered (what sort of pair?) when purchasing a CB. I think it’s probably the most important thing.

The mirror linking us with a £50m move for Allan Saint-Maximin from Newcastle, the article states they want £60m and also mentions us wanting Dumfries, Aarons and Zouma.

I feel like this Allan Saint-Maximin story is something that has been bouncing round on social media because people have just looked at Newcastle and thought "benitez used to manage Newcastle, who would he want to take to Everton?" ignoring the fact that Saint-Maximin joined Newcastle after Benitez left.

I’d like St Maximin. But seeing this article says we start the season away at Man Utd, it’s hard to take seriously.

But how are we supposed to pronounce Saint-Maximim and what are we gonna call him?

It is lazy journalism to just link Newcastle and Spanish players to us now.

No a 10s job is to assist the striker. A false 9s job is to play as a second striker.

Normally in a 442 for example, 2 strikers play alongside each other. A false 9 in a different formation would drop back a bit. A 10 would play even deeper.

I thought the most famous example of a false 9 - Spain and sometimes Germany - was literally no striker and someone different would get in the box, and be the focal point each time, so CBs wouldn't know who they are marking. It's a 9 running from deep.
