Everton Summer transfers 2021

That’s fine if the manager sees him as the number one CB moving forward,

While he’s still got improving to do, most see Godfrey as first choice moving forward. Do we want to both Mina & Keane on big money contacts taking them up to 31/32. While not being regulars in the team
Holgate should be sold out of these 4 cb to free up a new cb.

Is not as simple as that, like I’ve just said regarding Mina’s contract. You also need a buyer for Holgate, under the current climate, I think we’d get about 15mil max
He is the best cb we have now he is tall and physical and can head everything away. Godfrey is aggressive and pacy. Keane, if there is any taker.

If he sells all our forwards we might as well.give up. Can't see that happening.
To be honest, it doesn't look like there are any takers for James at the moment and I would be surprised if we sold DCL (although I think Kane's transfer, if it happens, will trigger a load of forwards moving around). I think it's actually quite likely that we will sell Mina and Richarlison given all of the noises coming from the club, Benitez and the players. I'm very down on Everton at the moment which is currently colouring my mood and forum posts though, so I am tending towards the worst case scenarios in my own head and probably should be ignored!

I wouldn’t disagree, but apparently he’s one of our top earners. On over 100k a week. Are the club going to commit to new deal at say 140k a week for 5yrs, that’s basically 35mil in wages.

He’s 27 and can never seem to say fit for a long period, you would imagine that will get worse as he gets older.

Would personally only sell Mina for big money but cant see anyone offering in the current climate.

Still think we could get a decent fee for Keane with the English premium you would imagine a mid table side would happily part with £25 million for him.

The bigger issue is Mina only has 2yrs left. He’s on a big wage, would probably won’t more money abs 5yr deal. He’s off the back of a good tournament, certain countries, Spain like their South American players. So maybe it’s the best time to sell.

Don’t get me wrong I really like Mina abs wouid have him all day over Keane
The problem with that though is injuries. Mina picks up too many for me. Honestly, if we bring in a new CB then I would hope that he and Godfrey are the first teamers. Keane, while not as purely talented as Mina, is fine for the reserves and he is pretty much never injured - as a third CB option in a back 4 he is fine.

Don't get me wrong, I like Mina, but I can see the logic in what is discussed given his possible value, remaining contract and injury tendency.

I don't think he'll be getting a bigger salary anywhere, I think we could probably extend his deal on similar terms but £100,000 a week is a big old chunk of change, I can see why the club might be looking to replace him. However, saying your getting shut because of the mistakes he makes and then bringing in Lenglet who was has been an error machine during his time in Spain.
