Player Valuation: £10m
Any of the finance bods know what it means for our spending if we get bernard off for say £8m amd his wages gone?
Essentially Bernard's wages equal Townsend, Begovic and Gray. 3 players for the price of 1.

It’s about the context of the signing with this one, for me. If he came in now, I’d probably start leaning towards the “we’re skint”/“these are the end times” cryarses.Rondon would be a steady eddie back up forward we've needed for a while tbh. Strong, good hold up play, decent in the air - Giroud Lite really to be thrown off the bench to try grab a goal.
Could do much worse - see Niasse, Toshun, Kean, Sandro.
He's suddenly turned into prime van basten on hereAnnounce Rondon
Sad state of affairs....He's suddenly turned into prime van basten on here
Has he, mate, yeah? He's suddenly turned into prime van basten on here
I don't know much about him, tbh, but his goalscoring stats are not inspiring. He had one good season in Austria (1 in 3 scoring record, which is ok but not amazing) but other than that his goal return has been poor. I'm just a bit fed up with low scoring forwards, we can't rely solely on DCL as we've seen those goals can dry up and nobody else chipping in leaves us badly exposed.Yeah he did score goals at Salzburg and just does'nt seem to have settled at Leipzig only started 3 games and was mostly on the bench, I think @Nymzee said that Nagelsmans formation just did'nt really suit him.
I have to listen to accountants spiel once a year, I go to football to escape such mundanities.Essentially Bernard's wages equal Townsend, Begovic and Gray. 3 players for the price of 1.

In my head prime Van Basten got cropped badly while he was at AC Milan in the early 90s and wasn't the same again. He's suddenly turned into prime van basten on here
Van Basten couldn't hold the ball up or run the channels for toffee. 32 year old Rondon over that wasteman every day of the week and twice on a Sunday.not at all mate
I'd much prefer Rondon to him
Excellent post mate, thank you.
What will be interesting, I suppose, is seeing what proportion of PL clubs are close to or over the threshold. The PL won’t cut its nose off to spite its face in terms of enforcing FFP in its current form if it means cutting off would-be big spenders at the knees and damaging “the product”.
I actually think Hwang is a really, really good player.0 league goals in 20/21 support this analysis.

If he came in at the end of the window either because we couldn’t get our main ST targets or we had decided to spend bigger than anticipated on RB, RW and CM then I’d probably be a bit calmer about it.
How do you know? Genuine question. You've yet to answer a question of mine so we'll see what happens...A lot of clubs are struggling and I mean a lot.
