Everton Summer transfers 2021

I actually thing Hwang is a really, really good player.

I have a soft spot for Salzburg as it is one of my favourite places I've ever visited and I have been a few times. Because of this, I try to keep an eye out for RB Salzburg and have watched a fair few of their games on dodgy feeds over the years - also because, being a German Bundesliga fan, you can see a lot of the identified by the RB group who will end up in the league.

Anyway, a roundabout way of saying I have seen a decent amount of him and thing he's a good player. But I can't fathom why he doesn't score in Germany - I don't think it's because he can't manage the step up. Think he would be a good player for us at the right price.
I will defer to your greater knowledge. He'd be good for new markets as well.

Realistically our better signings will probably come towards the end of the window or once we offload players.

If Benard goes for a decent fee of say £6+ million you could potentially see a Dumfries or McNeil signing be sealed. Anything after probably depends on more negotiations as the window closes unless the likes of Kean/Kenny/Delph potentially leave.
I think they will, but not because of financial constraints, just because bigger/better deals take longer to get over the line. Mina is one that stands out for me, when we had to put up with a lot of posturing to get our man.

If we signed Rondon or similar now, that shows we’re either not prioritising or can’t/won’t pay out for a better option. If we got him later it probably indicates we tried and failed which is kind of preferable, I suppose!!

True enough there mate. I think the thing is that you can never know how players from other leagues will settle - it's always a gamble. I don't like the idea of 'Premier League proven' etc. as I think it really narrows your scope.amd often prevents you identifying potential top-end talent. But I'm not opposed to the odd 'PL proven signing' but we have just made three of them so would like us to now look elsewhere for our remaining targets.

McNeil is an okay player with potential, but I feel that there would be much better out there (abroad) for the price and would like to see our scouts earn their money for once.

“Benitez will be itching to get more singers into the club with Theo Walcott joining Southampton permanently while Alex Iwobi and Bernard have not produced on a consistent basis”

I reckon they’d have made a cracking duet. Separately no chance, neither have great vocals

James is another who could leave potentially.

I can see James going by the end of the month and Kean to PSG for about £35 million towards deadline day.

Tbf to Benitez these 2 signings, plus Gray if it happens, are very sensible signings. Premier League experience, low fees, assumably low wages, short contracts. Not a lot that can go wrong really even if they are underwhelming.

I assume there will be outgoings of players in their positions who are on extortionate wages.

Rondon makes sense even if I'm not particularly keen on having him here myself. He's played for Benitez a lot so would hopefully settle in quickly. We can't sell Tosun as he is out for another few months at least with his busted knee and then he is out of contract next summer.

Then we have Kean and who knows what will happen with him. PSG have already spent big on Hakimi and added Donnarumma, Ramos and Wijnaldum who will all be on massive wages. They also just signed Neymar to a big new contract and will be trying to do the same with Mbappe.

Might be a case of waiting to see if they can move on a few of their squad players before they entertain buying Kean. Only caveat being the uncertainty over FFP and the fact they have unlimited funds in theory.

But yeah, I can see why someone like Rondon would appeal on a short term deal given he will likely be on reasonable wages and won't have much expectation of playing.
