Everton Summer transfers 2021

Would love Abraham but the more you think about it the more you think firing crosses into him wouldn't really work.

Ancelotti/Benitez tend to play with big physical CF's who can hold the ball up / get on the end of crosses.

We need to stop thinking about players who are great but don't necessarily suit our style otherwise you end up with Moise Kean failing to play the lone striker up top.

It’s almost irrelevant what Benitez’s style is. Everton have one of the finest target man strikers in Europe on the books, a scorer of
more open play PL goals last season than anyone in the league despite playing for a team that doesn’t make many chances.

Now we only have two sensible choices which is to either cash on him, or build the team to ply to his strengths. Playing like Leicester do with Vardy would be a complete waste of DCL’s skills.

Benitez is being pragmatic. He’s looked at the players he’s got available and he’s maximising the strengths we have. If he wasn’t getting wingers in we may as well sell DCL because no one else in that team is giving him any service whatsoever.

Hope the club see the rondon deal as us getting mcneil and pereira. With rich as the back up cf and rondon as third choice

On the surface it makes sense to have delivery coming from wide positions in addition to Digne. As stated, DCL (also Richarlison and Kean) can find space in the box and finish.

For me, Gray (awful) and Townsend (average) would be the backup wide men. We still need to bring in two more players if this is the way we want to play -- width on both sides.

Richarlison and Kean wont be players to have out wide popping balls in so we'll probably end up with 2 up top-- this, in theory means more targets for the wide players to hit and more space for the forwards.

The potential signing of McNeil can be seen as a progressive move (similar to Godfrey) with him being 21 experienced in the league and with lots of upside.

While thats a sensible purchase, we should also continue the trend and bring in Aarons at RB. At least then we'll have two players with high potential who can hit the ground running.

We'd still need a RW player which should be Bailey or Antony.

Bring in McNeil, Aarons and Antony/Bailey and the wide positions look covered and the backup players signing make sense.

Would love a bailey with mcneil, id like arrons to just dont think we have the money for him. Why i have come round to the other deals townsend and gray, which they might not work out but last season the bench offered nothing hopefully they can

I reckon we need 3 really....even then were still going to be weak at centre back and centre midfield.

This team needs a lot of money spent on it still...not to mention the squad.

My thinking is we need £200mil spent on the squad before Moshiri can pipe up about challenging for the top positions.

Well we didn't his contract had expired, he actually did play for Newcastle under Benitez, but not for long, picky i know, petty i suppose, but pretty down with Everton atm. :(
Don't be. We have signed two players, on the verge of signing another one, and then we might spend some money on another two.

Can't wait for the Florida Cup.

Unlike the majority of you, I am quite relaxed. I'm thinking top ten at the end of the season and that with a squad that is supposedly inferior to the one Carlo had.

Yet, we will probably finish the season in the same, or better position than what we did last season.

Many reasons to be cheerful; please people, not too many fingers.

Thank You.

I've been a bit tongue and cheek about this because none of these impending signings with the exception of maybe Dumfries or McNeil is exciting. But something clearly has to change. We hemorrhage money like a spa in the Arctic. The first manager the majority of the fans didn't feel at the very most polite apathy for in ages mugged us off for his abusive ex. We spend money on horrible players with bad attitudes and poor work ethic, 'big 6' castoffs looking for a payday on monster contracts for big wages. We cannot go on like this or we will legitimately go bust. We are a laughingstock. Serial bottlers. Players who actually want to play for us, who feel like they have something to prove, are players I personally want at the club. I want Everton to actually show up and try to get a result, even if we lose. Not wandering around like listless chickens 1-0 down at home to one of the worst sides in premier league history. These players are cheap, hungry, hard-workers who know what the gaffer, as unlikeable as most of us find him, wants them to do. As difficult as it might be to stomach, we clearly don't have depth or the mentality to mix with the top teams for very long. That is going to take time. But if we keep wasting money like we have before, we won't get any time to get to where we want to be.
