Everton Summer transfers 2021

If we're going to build our team around DCL it makes sense to get another target man like Rondon in, in case of injury, suspension, tiredness and loss of form. I still would have liked Giroud but I suspect he either wouldn't sit on the bench or his wages are too high.

Tino off to Brighton. Must be nice for them to have 2 right backs they could easily sell for 30+ million after getting them for 5 mill each. When it comes to transfers and how the club is ran, they're everything we're not.

Trouble is you can’t build a team around a player who only shows up half the time (something unlikely to improve as he ages).

I love to watch him play cause he is brilliant, but we don’t have the squad for him. He is a luxury player for a complete squad.

If him leaving allows us to shore up our gaps we might be better for it (pains me to say that but I fear it is true).

I think people are mis remembering last season, to say he was injured half the time is just wrong, he played 26 games last season across all competitions with 6 goals and 9 assists. We don't have anyone in our side who can do what he can do. If we wanted a player who did it, with a better injury record, we would need £50m easy. If we were to sell him, what do you think we would actually get for him? We signed him for free and he has 1 year left on his contract, we would be lucky to get £10m, realistically who do we sign for £10m who will contribute to 15 goals a season from midfield?

We need to make use of James this year and see how it goes, if he does well we can try to extend his contract, if not he will probably go on a free, but it just doesn't make sense to sell him

Yeah mate. The evidence is all there based on Brighton’s past history. Indisputable. Clearly.
Yep because Everton and Brighton start on level playing fields and there isn't any previous history at all. One team isn't in the top 5 most successful whilst the other came from nowhere.

Yes and on the basis of having 2 right backs who are decent, they are obviously better run. Undeniably.

Yes I wish we'd spent the best part of £30 million on a striker who never scores.

I've been a bit tongue and cheek about this because none of these impending signings with the exception of maybe Dumfries or McNeil is exciting. But something clearly has to change. We hemorrhage money like a spa in the Arctic. The first manager the majority of the fans didn't feel at the very most polite apathy for in ages mugged us off for his abusive ex. We spend money on horrible players with bad attitudes and poor work ethic, 'big 6' castoffs looking for a payday on monster contracts for big wages. We cannot go on like this or we will legitimately go bust. We are a laughingstock. Serial bottlers. Players who actually want to play for us, who feel like they have something to prove, are players I personally want at the club. I want Everton to actually show up and try to get a result, even if we lose. Not wandering around like listless chickens 1-0 down at home to one of the worst sides in premier league history. These players are cheap, hungry, hard-workers who know what the gaffer, as unlikeable as most of us find him, wants them to do. As difficult as it might be to stomach, we clearly don't have depth or the mentality to mix with the top teams for very long. That is going to take time. But if we keep wasting money like we have before, we won't get any time to get to where we want to be.

Agree that Townsend is probably a good egg and we need more of those. To be fair, we do have a few in Godfrey, DCL, Allan, Coleman

Not sure about Gray though - guess we'll see.
