Guna get some stick for this....but.....IF James leaves, I would like Lingard. I know that sounds mad, but that Lingard at West Ham was proper quality.

I said when he went to West Ham that, while he certainly wouldn't be on my shopping list, he was the type of player that Moyes could get a tune out of.

I don't know either mate. A lot would depend on the fee and the wages. Even if they were both reasonable most posters on here would need a new head if he turned out to be James's replacement.

He'd cost far too much and isn't actually that young anymore. He did play well last year and does carry the ball well, but it's a high risk for low return signing for me.

While I appreciate your well crafted and thoughtful views on these underwhelming signings I don't think your assertion that people who disagree are " immature ".
You have to appreciate some of us who worry that these levels of signings are the only thing we can look forward to this summer after buying the likes of James and Allan previously . That is one hell of a drop in quality .
If this is just filling spots in order to get players to push on into those converted top 6 spots , I am happy to admit I'm an idiot however with the appointment of a cheap option in our manager chair and these kind of recruits. You have to concede , it doesn't look good.

we’ve signed 3 squad filers at £1.5 million. We’ve lacked a squad for years. Some comments on here make out we should have 23 world class players in this squad, realistically that ain’t happening.
I understand they are not 3 transfers that makes you think ‘wow’ but I see it as 3 no brainers really at the cost, and what they could add to this squad. And if it keeps funds available for some big fee transfers, then even better.

Deffo think we should avoid that sort of signing. If we’re going to spend decent money on someone would rather it be someone young with an upside and resale potential.

Hopefully if we get money for Kean we’ll see some good young players coming in.

I think that’s it. We need to wait until the window is over before judging. If we add some quality players to the squad then those 3 signings make sense as bench warmers.

I wouldn't sell, but there is a scope for it.

But getting his wages off the book, doesn’t help Everton on the pitch? We aren’t going to get a replacement in that can do what he does for the fees we want to pay.
i think he has to stay this season.

BERNARD SET TO LEAVE EVERTON

Bernard looks set to finally move away from Everton this summer.

After hinting he is about to leave in a social media post to team mate Lucas Digne, Bernard is in talks with two clubs in the United Arab Emirates, one of which is Sharjah.

The 28-year-old is one of the highest paid players at Goodison Park after signing on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2018.

Bernard, who started just two Premier League games last season, was close to joining Dubai based Al Nasr in the January transfer window.
