I don’t want a striker to sit on the bench. I want a striker who thinks he’s better than DCL and will fight for the starting spot. Townsend says he knows he’s not an automatic starter but wants to change Benitez’ mind, let’s find a striker with that attitude. Maybe someone who scored loads in a different league, I don’t know, it’s not my job to scout world football but as someone who’s watched a lot of premier league football and little else I’m confident we can sign better than Rondon.

Right back should be the main concern right now. If we are struggling to bring someone in for that position then we need to prioritise it and put everything else on hold.
