Everton Summer transfers 2021

We aren't challenging for the top positions in the league in 2022. And if we don't get that through our heads this summer we also won't be in 2023 or 2024. It's a long term climb that we need to take step by step. Or specifically Moshiri needs to get through his head.
So....no money?

So....no money?
Nah I'm not even on about that part of it. We're too far away as a club for any amount to really do it. Because to even sign players who would come in this summer and be at the level required would probably require a massive overpay on wages and bonuses to tempt them. I reckon for a one year turnaround we'd probably need to outlay a good 200m in fees and start handing out minimum 150k per week and likely higher contracts. It's not really plausible. Money or not we need to build.

But I'm not.

The Dumfries article says we have no money.
Oh, the Dumfries article by the random Dutch press, which if you took 2 seconds to think about it is a negotiating tactic of saying "Oh, you will only pay 15 million and not the 17 million we want, we will leak a story about how you are broke, making players not want to go to you. So you should then pay our price and prove otherwise."

Sell to buy?

I seriously thought this was a smokescreen but apparently not?
Pretty much what can go wrong has gone wrong this Summer

However Moshiri has provided funds each year he has been here and he will do so again this Summer. He’s not going to bring Benitez in, knowing how unpopular it is, and then set him up to fail by giving him no money for transfers
