I think you're right, and it will let us see how good a coach Benitez claims he is, although his apparent willingness to bin James is very concerning. He talked up the squuaaaaad in his first interview - he might be stuck with them!

The RB situation is laughable, and is something that brands has failed spectacularly at since he's been here. Coleman sadly isn't the player he was and Kenny is just...... Kenny.

Happy with Kean as backup to DCL if he stays - would like to see them as a two.

Midfield is where we could have issues (same as every year) although I think siggurdson has done Benitez a favour by not being available for selection - I genuinely believe we're a better team without the fraud.

I feel like our business is dependent on what happens with the suspended one.

We’ve made big strides in cutting down our wage bill, Bolasie, Besic, Walcott, Bernard were all on way too much, and we’ve replaced them with cheaper and hopefully more effective players.

If we were in trouble, maybe that’s just enough to right size us. Maybe if we find we can legally fire him we free up another 100kpw or something and can easily get one of these players we’re linked to. Dumfries and McNeil, if they are the two, won’t have been on mega money at PSV and Burnley.

Does it not indicate that they have probably got positive feedback from PSV? That's the way I read it... Wouldn't surprise me if it was wrapped up early next week and McNeil arrives for 30-35M-ish as well.
