Players that need to be gone. Kenny, Keane, Delph, 31yo, Iwobi, Tosun, Broadhead. Branthwaite and Gordon need to go on loan as does Nkounkou if they don't think he's ready. We need a RB, CB, maybe LB depending on Nkounkou 2 CM. If Kean and/or James are sold they also need replaced like for like. We are going into this season in the worst position for years. I can see us finishing somewhere between 10th and 14th if we don't do some sensible business.

…to be fair, he’s been largely used as a deep lying midfielder with responsibility for starting things of, transitioning defence into attack. I’m sure if you look at stats for Kendall, Harvey, Reid and Bracewell they don’t look impressive but we know how effective those central midfielders were.

Away from the stats, he’s not offered much for a while and is a defensive liability against mobile opposition.

I understand your thought train but don’t fully agree with it. Gana Gueye scored more and assisted more in his time here and he was a defensive midfielder.

Regardless, he’s came from Barcelona, played for portugal, he has never once (apart from the derby) took the game by the scruff of the neck and took responsibility. We expected more and in the whole he’s been very disappointing.

I imagine a lot of business will be done towards the last week of the window.

I still see James being the one to leave - someone like Coutinho on loan to replace him with the James profit on the books allowing us to finalise deals for a RB + Wide Player.

Maybe a CM on loan on deadline day if we can offload Delph.

Rondon is fine as a back up striker if Kean goes but the lack of RB links is genuinely concerning now. We keep doing this, we have a position that is so obviously in need of improvement and we ignore it. Last season few seasons it was the right wing, after Rom left it was up front, under Roberto it was the mythical No 10. Its criminal.

An extremely generous 6 in my opinion. I don't think he has scored once and only has 1 assist since injury.
