Agreed. He looked quality initially but his performances have fallen off a cliff.Gomes 1st season - 8, after that declining to ultimately a 4 !!!
Offers nothing of note.

Mate, you spend more time than any other poster fighting with fellow blues on here. You see that, right? And your last paragraph, wow, you have predicted everything from qualifying for Europe and winning a cup to finishing 15th (and stating that every one of those outcomes would be a "massive achievement" for your boy Benitez), if that's waiting to "judge the state of play" I'd hate to see the volume of predictions you'll be making once September rolls around.
He scored 1 and assisted none so not a chance he was an 8. He was a 6 before injury and a 2 now.I honestly don’t understand the belief that Gomes was an 8 pre injury. I think at best he was a 7 with the supposed potential to be an 8. I think pundits loved to talk about what a ‘silky’ player he was but he never really ‘changed’ a game. Am I being unfair?
If you give him a 6 after injury, either you are either in love with him because of his looks or havent watched many Everton games of late.Nope what I actually meant was

In your opinion. If you give him a 6 after injury, either you are either in love with him because of his looks or havent watched many Everton games of late.
I mean he has gone from one dominating the midfield twisting and turning and spreading passes all over the field to being a passenger / liability / limited attacking contribution. My 4 rating is a touch generous even
