Mate, you spend more time than any other poster fighting with fellow blues on here. You see that, right? And your last paragraph, wow, you have predicted everything from qualifying for Europe and winning a cup to finishing 15th (and stating that every one of those outcomes would be a "massive achievement" for your boy Benitez), if that's waiting to "judge the state of play" I'd hate to see the volume of predictions you'll be making once September rolls around.

Because we dont know where we will finish - you all have already made your minds up on that so we may as well not even bother playing 38 games this season and save everyones time.

Moyes on more than one occasion finished in europe followed by a midtable finish, Martinez went from 5th to 11th and Koeman/Silva went from 7th/8th to the bottom 3 the following seasons.

Instead of waiting to judge you're all over the manager demanding him sacked, all over the new signings and already calling them useless.

The only thing you can predict is a likely rough 2-3 games at the start due to no Richarlison, possibly no DCL and no new RB, RW, CM. If signings come in before the windows end + Richarlison back in the side then you can judge.

Why everyone flipping over Rondon? He will be 3rd choice, sometimes DLC or Rich are exhausted at at 80 mins. Now if he was DLc replacement then yes we should cry but it's must be kean leaving and rondon replacement. If we have any money then Rb is needed asap

I honestly don’t understand the belief that Gomes was an 8 pre injury. I think at best he was a 7 with the supposed potential to be an 8. I think pundits loved to talk about what a ‘silky’ player he was but he never really ‘changed’ a game. Am I being unfair?
He scored 1 and assisted none so not a chance he was an 8. He was a 6 before injury and a 2 now.

Nope what I actually meant was

Mina, pretty solid 7/8
Gnomes, pre-injury 8, after injury 6
If you give him a 6 after injury, either you are either in love with him because of his looks or havent watched many Everton games of late.

I mean he has gone from one dominating the midfield twisting and turning and spreading passes all over the field to being a passenger / liability / limited attacking contribution. My 4 rating is a touch generous even

…to be fair, he’s been largely used as a deep lying midfielder with responsibility for starting things of, transitioning defence into attack. I’m sure if you look at stats for Kendall, Harvey, Reid and Bracewell they don’t look impressive but we know how effective those central midfielders were.

Away from the stats, he’s not offered much for a while and is a defensive liability against mobile opposition.

In your opinion.
Do not presume to tell me mine.
