Everton Summer transfers 2021

I think Longstaff and Rondon are logical predictions of signings though.
Martinez signed Robles, Alcaraz, McCarthy and Kone from his previous club. Koeman signed Martina. Silva got Richarlison and tried for Doucoure. Carlo brought Allan and James. Benitez already has Townsend.

He’s signed Rondon twice and Longstaff had some great games under him. Based on our last 4 signings (I’ll include King), this is the level we are looking at.
But it is not worth all the hate and anger associated with it UNTIL it happens. Honestly., some spotty kid making stuff up and it leads to pages of self-fuelling comments about us being the new newcastle and going down etc.
Benitez has signed hundreds of players, must we listen to every fictional rumour about them all?

I don’t think we have but if it’s not Dumfries then it’s going to be option Z, some no mark or bang average tosh after we’ve picked up 1 point from 3

We tried mate, like we did last season. In fairness Dumfries is the only right back available in world football

Another season of Coleman and JJK, oh joy
3 weeks left ffs

…or the scouts recommendations are not being endorsed within the club.

The truth is, I doubt any of us know what’s going on but whatever it is isn’t working.

If true, why are we still employing him?...

Not like he's gonna resign, he's making great money for doing nothing, and he isn't gonna get a better paid job anywhere else..

We're not the first club to make a mess of the DOF role to be fair...but we don't seem to be addressing it..

Our players who wouldn’t sign because we are who club who consistently changes managers (who have differing football philosophies) and is constantly in court paying out compensation for wrongful dismissal. I’m as frustrated and worried as anyone but your approach is incredibly naïve I’m afraid. Not one player in the world would say “I like their style, the club is badly run from top to bottom, but a player can be sacked for under performing. They’re the club for me!”
It might be naive but my thoughts are that players may be attracted to a club who are taking action to sort themselves out rather than one which buries it head in the sand and continues to throw good money after bad. We can’t go into a new era which the new ground can help deliver with the mentality we have now.
Time for a radical change of direction. Time to become a club with an identity and a belief in itself. If you won’t or can’t play in a way that we want you to then you shouldn’t be here. We should be capable of offering a chance to play at the highest level, a chance to win things and a chance to improve yourself and your international status. If we can do this then players will come. I have no doubt they will be some who won’t want to play under those conditions but, I for one, don’t want players at the club whose first thought is that if I under preform I will be ousted. I want players who believe In themselves and who want the challenge.

…I suppose the club can say transfers are only a part of his job. He acts as a conduit between the manager and board, manages the spend envelope, co-ordinated football strategy through all age groups etc.

its the transfer process that seems to be a right Horlicks.

A year ago, Paddy Boyland in The Athletic posted this about our scouting network

“Everton’s network meets often, meets frequently, meets every week. They have scouts positioned in all the major European countries.

“They have an Eredivisie scout. They have a Belgian league scout, they have a scout for South America. They have a guy that straddles Italy and the Balkans.

“The reason they have that scout is because they’ve commissioned reports, independent reports, and they’ve found that the Balkans is one of the main providers of undervalued talent.

“So, yeah, obviously [it’s] important for them to try and find that in the current climate and then they also have guys, obviously, that work quite extensively in the UK. So, they meet and it’s quite a thorough process, actually.”

So it seems that we having a scouting network - which is ultimately getting paid to do absolutely nothing

stevie wonder could have written that for the Athletic. Professional football club with scouts in major leagues - wow more insight from them.

publication struggling badly to find interesting articles to write with zero inside scoops

Townsend, Gray and Rondon...and Evertonians are trying to convince themselves they're happy with this??

Got Championship written all over it...ask Newcastle
We need some actual signings, but getting our knickers in a twist over cheap transfers that provide depth is silly. If all we sign are the mentioned players, then we have an issue.
