I think Kean is heavily likely to go, Tosun surely will find someone keen in taking a punt and Bernard looks like he will be on his way. Can't see anyone else leaving unless Richarlison kicks up a fuss and someone has lots of dosh...

Free up some spaces in the squad and some funds - Right back obviously a must, Right winger a must, another CM needed. I do think that whilst it's all doom and gloom now, another 3 starters like we had last year (preferably 3 who can stay fit) and we could be looking pretty decent.

Youre asking why a formation that suits the players we have hasnt been effective in 20 years?

Its been effective overall when weve used it with players sub par for the roles + other premier league sides have used it in bursts.

Imagine when Moyes stumbled across formations and it clicked...lucky he didnt think "ahh no ones done this successfully in 20 years so it wont work now"...Guardiola doesnt seem to mind trend setting and neither did Wilder to get Sheff Utd into the premier league and up the table -- short burst.

Tbh i really dont know what Wide forwards you think would push us up into top 4 level for under circa £40mil each thesedays...

RB Lamptey, Emerson and Aarons would all be around £30mil. Im hard pressed to think of anything other than a massive gamble for under that level.

CM: We need a 'star' player in there...that wont cost buttons...again we cant afford to gamble.

We may strike lucky on another godfrey signing but id rather we stuck to 3, rather than punt on 4 or 5 signings on the cheap.

Anyway, im open to suggestions, @Stephenlloyd had some ideas for a 3 at the back where we also wouldnt need many signings.

But id definitely prefer now to sign 3 players instead of spreading the cash around...for me, aside from a right back we should focus centrally.

I want 3 top quality players as well a RB, a RF and a AM/CM.

I think we should be working on players that can play in both 4-3-3 and 4-4-2.

We need a right back.
A complete new midfield , only duke can be relied on, Allan I like but needs legs around him all the rest not up to the job or unreliable due to injuries, you cant base your season on players who play less than half of it, no matter how good they are , yes I do mean Hamez.
An attacker if kean goes and hopefully a new Keeper.

That's best part of £80m. I reckon the 3 players I think we need will cost £100m-£120m. So we need to find £40m but with the likes of Walcott, Bolasie and Besic leaving we will also make a saving on wages.

I think Italian clubs might be interested. Hopefully they won't get either but neither is going to play every game at their ages.

I like David brooks he has been unlucky with injuries last 2 seasons. I would also like McNeil from Burnley nothing to do with the goal he scored. But he is good player can pass, dribble has abit of pace and tons of energy. Only think for me is good players stand out more in average teams and can these players take us to the next level?.

McNeil's a very good player and, being at Burnley, gets stuck in, especially for an attacking player. He's surprisingly tall as well.

Kean if we can - think we can probably get €40m in for him (so pretty much £40m).

Bernard we might be able to get £6m or so. Kenny £3m or so, and Iwobi if we can sell maybe we'll get half back (£15m max I'd say)...

Lot of work to be done.
