hopefully (for you) its not a repeat of the last time villa spunked loads of money and ended up relegated!

The players we bought then were too young and we had Tactics Tim as manager. The players we bought have had and are having good careers. Gana Everton & PSG, Adama Traore Boro & Wolves, Ayew (Palace) and Amavi (Marseille).
TBH, I really can't see Villa (or Everton) flirting anywhere near relegation this season. But football is a funny ole game

So Gray, Townsend, Begovic, Rondon and Buta in for less than 5m could be our summer. The only, and I do mean only, positive thing here is that perhaps it is the club recognizing that they hired a short term manager and are not going to waste money buying expensive players to suit him when he will be gone before we know it. (Unlike say when we spent 50m buying Walcott and Tosun for Fat Sam).

Dzeko is also about 50 - Inter will likely want a long term option as well.

Cant see PSG wanting him now. I'd guess we might have him here for a season.

It's only a car crash if your expectation was a top 6 finish.

I however expect us to finish somewhere between 11th and 15th, so no car crash.
