I don’t buy that.
Do you think at AC Milan where there were no stars in the team they got upset that Zlatan got indulged? Or do you think they went ‘wow, I get to play with Zlatan at this club, that’s amazing, I want to be the best I can so I can spend as many minutes on the pitch as possible with him’.

Players want to play with the best players, James is a global superstar.
 
Genuinely just can’t comprehend why any of our fans would want James out when the other midfield options to replace him in the starting 11 would be one of gomes, Townsend, gray, Davies or iwobi. Have no problem with some of them being backups but that’s exactly what they should be.

even playing half a season he’d still be by far our highest goal scorer and assists of anyone in midfield.

Zlatan has a massive ego but he is more often than not putting in a shift / doesn't need a month off when he's feeling tired.

James sodding off leaving his team mates before the season had even finished said everything about the lad to me - even if he was unavailable you stay and support your team mates / fans. Its not a big incident in isolation but its a piece of the jigsaw that shows why teams like WHU and Leeds finished above us last season through sheer effort.

You know what it said to normal people:

He was injured and hadn’t seen his daughter in over a year so it was pointless sitting around just to appease some internet warriors who complain he doesn’t run up the sand dunes

Good luck with that , especially as we have Marcel in charge.

James I could see as a possibility if we gave him away.

MB hasn't got a scooby how to deal with Gomes and Delph , both of whom he brought to the club in the first place.

This would be a perfectly valid complaint if it wasn't a year beset with Covid where he couldn't see his kids for a very long time. Cut him some slack. He still scored and assisted more than any mid without pens, in less time. We are better with him than without
