Typically because smaller clubs can afford to take the risk mate clubs like us aiming for europe tend to sign their better players in the same manner the top clubs sign our better players.

Our problem tends to be we sign the wrong established players

Gomes over likes of Tielemans
Iwobi over likes of Zaha
Toshun over Danny Ings

3 that spring to mind right away

But that's what I'm saying there is no plan, I dont care if the name is Bill Smith or Billardo Smythio, everything about our recruitment should be a sign to other clubs how not to do it, take the midfield an assortment of players but I doubt anybody could tell you what their role is, plus if you lay out say 4/5 mill on a player theres more chance of at least breaking even if they don't make it

I’ve never been so underwhelmed and non-excited about the start of a new season. Not only have we got the most unlikeable, dispassionate shower of garbage I’ve ever since comprise an Everton squad, we’ve simply added more dross in the summer.

Not only is the new kit giving me strong 1997/98 vibes (a godawful team that stayed up by a fluke), the quality of the squad is too.

I hope both counts are wrong mate. Get a bad feeling though out of all the bad links for us that Barkley will be the one that comes true.
